The Fungal Jungle Report

General Summary

With the path to the geode, central to one of the four rituals from Wishart's Palimpsest in front of them., the Five Fingers needed to make a decision. They could cross the river in The Hidden Valley and take a direct route to the cave indicated by the locals. Or they could head slightly south and explore the fungal jungle across the river. The lure of colourful mushrooms proved too strong. But first, a river to cross. Knowing of Alok Ravaralei's poor track record with crossing bodies of water the decision was made to construct a raft from jungle materials. This almost proved disastrous itself but the party made it across dry and unscathed. Until setting ashore. Suddenly one of the fungi began emitting a shrieking noise which drew the attention of some Violet Fungi nearby. Marble and Mehmen Ashid were both of the opinion that these needed to be picked off from afar, a reasonably easy task seeing how slowly they moved. What the party hadn't counted on was a tall slender mushroom creature that was much swifter and hardier and was determined to attack them too. Soon they were besieged by belligerent fungus. Badalona Ailendogs discovered how dangerous the taller fungus was when he entered its corrosive cloud of spores and was severely injured. However Flaming Spheres soon came to the party's rescue again and the fungi were defeated. After a little foraging for edible mushrooms, the party approached the cave, pausing because of the sight of enormous 3 toed footprints coming in and out of the cave. What lurks inside?
