Plains of Thunder

The Plains of Thunder are home to Dorwine's clans of Centaur. They roam the plains in small family clans which are each identifiable by their markings. The clans pitch up large pavilions and will stay places for up to 4 months at a time but they never linger long, so as not to deplete any natural game in the area. Sometimes one or more clans will join together for a brief period to trade, arrange marriages or even fight off intruders but it is the nature of the centaur to remain nomadic.   This is not to say that their culture is not sophisticated, culture and philosophy thrive amongst the clans, but it does reflect a general rejection of material culture in favour of freedom from amongst the people of the Plains.   The Centaur Clans

Ecosystem

The Plains themselves are actually small groves of trees growing every few hundred yards amidst tall grasses. Flora and fauna abounds, carefully husbanded by the Clans. There is very little running surface water here, although it does rain and there are watering holes scattered throughout as well as some u der ground springs whose locations are often closely guarded secrets. Sometimes clans will marry into others in an attempt to find the location of a particularly abundant spring.
