General Summary

The Five Fingers of Dorwine push further into The Undercrypt of Nyala the Lunatic after despatching the strange spider creature and its brood. They are momentarily distracted by the odd pile of bread that fills part of the first chamber and the pit at the far end. Badalona Ailendogs tries leaping to the wooden platform over the top of the deep pit, makes it but in his exhaustion almost falls on the return leap. Prudently he is roped to his fellow party members and Mehmen Ashid and Alok Ravaralei are able to prevent a catastrophic fall. At the other end of the room the strange floating eyes that have been bobbing along in the party's wake finally bump up against Marble. Despite the best efforts of Thomas Marchant to move him Marble eventually causes one of the eyeballs to burst, showering the goblin with potentially lethal spores. As a result, the rest of the eyeballs are burst - from a safer distance. Doors prove to be difficult in the Undercrypt as very few have handles, most are stone and require brute force to lift. This would normally prove less of an issue, but with Badalona exhausted from his raging and Alok poisoned, it is a serious problem. The party encounter a couple of choices - an iron door that appears to be to the final resting place of Nyala and a stone door from beyond which a horrible wailing can be heard. The stone door it is. The room on the other side is empty, except for a burnt shield and the source of the wailing is impossible to locate. While exploring the room and the corridor beyond a pair of ogres force their way in. Because the corridors are narrow the brutes can be picked off one at a time. While no sign has been found of the scoby there is sign of recent passage by many booted feet, blood and signs of struggle. The Five Fingers stop to rest in front of a lowered portcullis in the hope that soon they can find where the footprints lead...
