The Valley of the Pagans

Where the northwestern Maggiore Mountains and the southeastern The Glass Desert meet, a religious gathering like no other sits within a circular valley. A mix of pagan and traditional religions live among one another in harmony, setting aside their theistic differences to take respite from the pressure of the outside world. Any and all are welcome to stay in the valley-- provided they are peaceful folk and can take care of their own needs. Grapes grow plentifully in the Maggiore and dew is captured in the lowlands of the clearing, mixed to create a sweet and indulgent wine found nowhere else on the continent. Travelers may take some as long as they replace it, ensuring a constant supply is available for both personal use at their homes and ceremonial use at sites like the Garden Of The Goddesses. But one must not take these peaceful peoples for granted, they are more than prepared to take up arms for one another if a threat to the valley presents itself.

Government

Though no proper system of government is set in place for the valley, it's visitors mutually follow a simple rule: Bring no harm unto others, and no harm will be brought unto you. The folk who travel here know that to receive peace one must give others peace of their own-- squabbling and fighting over petty differences has no place in the valley. Anyone seeking to harm its peaceful pleasantries should expect an unwavering resistance.

Much like Amberton, the inhabitants of the valley do not trade in coin, opting to barter with goods or favors among one another. This system has undoubtedly caused much confusion for any would-be pillagers, as well as any outside traders hoping to peddle their wares to the religious folk of the mountains.
