Garden Of The Goddesses

Nestled on the Northwest border of The Glass Desert is a lake full of strange spires of sandstone. Seemingly formed by a swelling aquifer, the lake is perpetually filled with water no matter the season. As such, the sudden formation and stagnant nature of the lake has left a great deal of rock uneroded and above the water line. These spires are as beautiful as they are mysterious which has garnered them a strong reputation and likeness from the local religious peoples who see them as beacons to the goddesses of the lands. An interconnected web of rope bridges may strike the attention of travelers, who can occasionally witness multiple candle-lit ceremonies atop decorated spires, as many different religious folk seek to please their deities in silent solidarity with one another. The perpetual peace and harmony that surrounds this lake has even further convinced the groups, and they take it as a blessing from their goddesses that no harm has fell upon them in the Garden. These ceremonies not only strengthen their faith but add to it, more often than not converting travelers (and sometimes other religious folk) to their religion. Few outside of the group know where these people come from or what they are doing, but rumors spread about a hidden encampment in the Maggiore Mountains.

Geography

The lake lies in a recessed portion of The Glass Desert, filling with cold water from below and evaporating under the hot desert sun. Surrounding the lake are cragged and rough cliff walls that open to a natural ramp to the northeast. Inside the lake are spires of rock both big and small, with a web of rope bridges starting and ending at the top of the cliffs allowing travel from spire to spire. Lanterns and decorations adorn these bridges likely placed there by the individuals that make the pilgrimages here as a way to mark each and every visit.

Localized Phenomena

It is common for travelers to see rituals and ceremonies performed at the Garden, as various groups flock here to show their faith to their goddesses. Ask any of the people making their way here and they will tell intricate stories of grand gatherings with little fear of the outside world, the Garden being a "save haven" shielded from all that seeks to harm them.
