Linrean-Calumdorian War

Following the expansion of Linrea's border into The Eldrok Forest, Calumdor swiftly declared the expansion a threat to it's own land, and tensions began to rise. The two kingdoms, ever growing closer to one another, officially declared war over the matter on the 26th of Indou, with Linrea accused of settling on Calumdorian land and Calumdor accused of encroaching it's border far too close to Linrea. The two kingdoms fought for nearly three years, before Calumdor's loss at the hands of a joint Linrean-Crumizerian force.  Since the conflict, the relationship between Linrea and Calumdor has settled, and an alliance has been proposed between the both of them. Crumizur and Aeslung still retain a disdain for one another, despite the lack of interaction between their armies during the war.

The Conflict

Deployment

Linrea rapidly gathered it's army, and moved to The Hollow Plains to defend it's newly-acquired land. Calumdor did the same, moving its forces to push back the Linrean expansion. There the two sides sat, occasionally engaging one another but ultimately breaking no new ground-- leading to Linrea to request support from it's ally, Crumizur, in effort to completely push Calumdor's forces back. Calumdor did not do the same until many months later, and Aeslung arrived to a war that had already been lost-- Many believe Calumdor's decision to call upon Aeslung came too late, and that the war had already been effectively lost.

Battlefield

Many battles spurred across the continent, with the initial conflicts being mostly along the edges of the two kingdoms' borders, now known as The Howling Embers. However, with the arrival of Crumizur's reinforcements, Linrea successfully managed to push back Calumdors' army and into Calumdorian territory. The conflict raged on, eventually ending at the edge of The Iconol Cliffs.

Outcome

Crumizur's assistance was regarded as one of the largest factors in Linrea's victory, and Denas gave them his gratitude for their support. Calumdor and Linrea both retreated from the now-destroyed Hollow Plains, the area now a wasteland that neither side wants to take ownership of. Both kingdoms retreated their borders and agreed to use The Eldrok Forest as a sort of dividing line between their territories, ensuring neither side pushes to close to the other and creating a neutral zone in the process.  Aeslung, having arrived to a support a war that had already finished, turned and left knowing their tardiness may have cost Calumdor its victory.

Aftermath

Long term effects of the war are apparent on all of its fronts. Tension between the kingdoms have fallen in the years since and there is currently an alliance being formed between them. People move freely between each kingdom and trade has since resumed. Citizens affected by the fighting still have their qualms, especially that of Calumdorians, who saw their cities burned and land desecrated by Crumizurs' ruthless devotion to fire. Much of Calumdors' anger has been directed towards Crumizur and reflects onto its ally, Linrea. The neutral zone formed at the end of the war has remained that way since, and small colonies such as Duredhel have formed outside of either kingdom's rule. Small fires continue to burn in The Howling Embers, ever-inching towards The Eldrok Forest and showing no signs of stopping.
