Technology

The levels of technology within Domhan vary greatly between nations. In fact, they vary so greatly that one should really consider Domhan to display three technological levels: a base level, the level of technology that Rafinova accepts to export, and Welmenni's technological level.
At its base, the world of Domhan is fairly advanced. Each city and village can be expected to have multiple healers, and magic items are so numerous that large cities can be expected to sell some of the surplus that isn't used for war. Siege engines such as ballistae and catapults are prominent, and various ships such as galleys and warships are plentiful. International roads are in a bad state due to constant war, but national roads are well maintained. The strongest metal in Domhan's possession is steel, which is used for weapons and armor.
Rafinova, and by extension Welmenni, accepts to export some of its technology to the rest of Domhan - for a tidy sum, of course. Such exports include the art of fleshcrafting, necessary to modify Husks to suit one's needs. It also includes special material such as adamantine, and weapons powered by magic, like eldritch cannons and smaller firearm-like weapons. Some countries, thanks to designs from Welmenni, have managed to create rudimentary airships, that still pale in comparison to those of Welmenni.
Welmenni itself, on the other hand, is on another level entirely. Not only do they have fully functional, non-sentient constructs to fulfill their every need, even their weapons are equipped with protocols that allow them to seek out enemies automatically. Not to mention all of the magical amenities in the capital, Taqnia; some say it is decadent enough to corrupt even the most straight-edged monk. These advancements are possible not only due to Rafinova's intelligence and skill, but also due to the presence of a special material in Welmenni called Orichalcum. The people from Welmenni have access to firearms.
