Rooks (rook)

Out of all the nations of Domhan, the nation of Welmenni is the most technologically advanced. The Veika who leads that nation, Rafinova, has built very special constructs that are called the Rooks. The Rooks serve two major purposes.
First, they are used as the army of Welmenni, and even a single one is known to be tough to beat in battle. They are resilient, strong, and can adapt to their environment. Some are even said to be able to combine with other Rooks, forming more powerful entities capable of laying waste to armies of mortal opponents.
The Rooks' second purpose is much more mundane. The weaker Rooks, those not meant to see battle, are used to take care of the more physically demanding and repetitive tasks of Welmenni; things like farming, mining, or supply transport.This has caused strange societal phenomenons to pop up in the nation.
The Rooks are constructed with both magic and technology, and are not sentient. They obey their purpose, and nothing more. Some of the more advanced models are capable of speech. As mechanical beings without a soul, they do not have a Regret.
