The Blood Bowls Of Verespia

The Blood Bowls are a set of three evil enchanted vessels that use a form of Blood Magic to spy upon a particular person or place. Their range is limited only by the size of the bowl and the concentration of their user. They are named after their creator, the witch turned vampire, Verespia. Prolonged use of these bowls invites several physical, mental, and moral maladies.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Exactly how these bowls function is still a mystery, but what we do know is that they must be filled with fresh, human blood and then the user must gaze into the bowls to receive a vision of the target person or location that they wish to view. No sounds are communicated as only the visuals are transmitted.
Additionally, when the bowls are placed one inside of another and slowly rotated, they act as zooming and focusing lenses, allowing the user to choose different targets within the image and receive more detailed and longer visions. Each bowl must have a different source of fresh blood in order to operate properly.
If the blood is not fresh or the bowls use the same source of blood, then any number or variety of malfunctions may occur. These inaccurate images are displayed unbeknownst to the viewer and most often show the wrong targets or skewed images from the past.

Verespia has never mentioned or written about how she created these bowls or where she obtained the knowledge for their creation.

Significance

These bowls were used by Verespia to spy on both the Mirusi Lands and the kingdom of Nosveren during their many confrontations with her homeland.

The small bowl is 6 inches across by 3 inches deep, the medium sized bowl is 9 inches across by 5 inches deep, and the large bowl is 13 inches across by 7 inches deep.

These bowls are said to be made out of an unusual combination of a rare black clay, mixed with ground up skull bones.
