Soul Fire Ink
Soul Fire Ink is a special tattoo ink used by the Rau Zlo dark dwarves to create magical sigils that when tattooed into a dwarf give them a variety of enhanced abilities. This ink comes from the rare Soul Fire Lichen and can only be processed by the Tetovala war artists.

Geology & Geography
The ink can only be found where the Soul Fire Lichen grows. These are remote and inhospitable volcanic areas that have seen a lot of bloodshed or even certain igneous rocks that had once been soaked in blood. Some known locations are Barlang Varos in the The Bos Magara, and the ancestral homeland of Rauz Talo. The ink is only processed by the highly trained dwarves in their subterranean cities.

This ink can only be extracted from the Soul Fire Lichen. It is said to be an arduous process filled with both danger and secrecy.
Life & Expiration
This ink typically last for about a month before beginning to break down and become ineffective. If it is exposed to air, then it will become useless within a few days.
History & Usage
Discovery
This material was discovered by the Rau Zlo dwarves sometime in the ancient past and has been regarded as one of their greatest secret ever since.
Everyday use
Soul fire Ink is used exclusively by the Tetovala. These are the official and licensed war artists and tattooists of the Rau Zlo dark dwarves. All of these dwarves will get at least one Soul Fire Tattoo created from this special ink during their lives.
Cultural Significance and Usage
This ink is used in the second part of the Rau Zlo coming of age ceremony known as The Seger Soulmasa. The surviving dwarves choose a Soul Sigil to be created as their first Soul Fire Tattoo.
Refinement
This ink is taken from the Soul Fire Lichen in a very mysterious process by the Rau Zlo dwarves. The exact practices are a highly guarded secret. No records are ever kept about it and the knowledge is only passed down from the master to the graduating apprentice going into the field and taking an oath of secrecy.

This material can only be used once as it immediately becomes a part of the body of the recipient.

Trade & Market
This ink is most commonly found in the tattoo shops and military orders of the Rau Zlo dwarves. Very rarely will some shop keepers in locations near the foul sources have access to small quantities. Occasionally, the more eclectic magic shops and apothecaries, may either have some for sale or know how to acquire some, for a small fee.
Storage
This material needs to be sealed shut before usage or else it will dry out and quickly become ruined.
Law & Regulation
Only the Rau Zlo dwarves are permitted to possess or use this important ink. Anyone else found to be in possession of it will be captured, imprisoned, and put to death, although not necessarily in that order.
