Harmonic Tsunami
A Harmonic Tsunami is a colossal wall of water that is at least two to three times the height of a typical ocean tsunami. This spectacular wave can easily catch up to and sink fleeing ships, break through and over the toughest sea walls, and devastate entire communities. Most seaside settlements try to employ several Water Wizards and even Elementalists and Force Mages as a means of combating the destructive wave.
Manifestation
To the inexperienced, the massive rushing wall of water is their first and only clue before destruction hits. However, for those who are more observant, there are several preceding signs that when recognized may be lifesaving if immediate action is taken.
The first indications that the tsunami is coming are very faint vibrations that can just barely be felt in the ground and along large stones or solid walls anchored into the land. These vibrations quickly turn into thumping pulses as the ocean waves begin to move in and out of the shore in a rhythmic pattern. As the seconds tick by, the waves start to build and double their heights and then double them again and again as the distant energy wave approaches. The white crests of these waves produce a loud roaring sound as they continuously curl and break. Finally an eerie silence fills the area as the enormous, dark blue and green tsunami wave pulls in the surrounding water as it builds to its ultimate height and smashes into, through and above the shoreline.
Shortly after the tsunami strikes and the receding water levels out, there will be a dead calm in the ocean with no waves at all and a complete stoppage of ocean current flow as well. These flat ocean conditions are often windless as the air reorganizes itself and are referred to as Static Seas.
Localization
While extremely rare, these staggering tsunamis are found exclusively in the coastal regions of the Vastus Ocean. Despite the immense size of the ocean, these huge waves have only been reported along the northern shores of the southern regions. The most recent historical records indicate that the tsunamis have been centered near the area surrounding the Great Sea Wall subcontinent and its Deep Trench area. However the city of Waterwhite and the Blood Coast, as well as the capital city of Veladare have not completely escaped the waves and have been hit on occasion. Unsubstantiated claims have suggested that even Potonula Isle and the remote Albeon Isles have additionally been struck by these tsunamis.

Historically this rare and destructive wave has often been thought to be the handiwork of evil magic users and druids or even the wrath of angry deities, but recent studies have suggested a more natural cause."It is believed that the natural ocean vibrations in conjunction with certain water current flow and specific wind movements, may set up disastrous wave conditions. These conditions can successively be triggered by underwater earthquake vibrations, causing a standing energy wave to be sent forth. When this wave constructively combines with the rebounding return waves from the shore, an enormous sea wave called a Harmonic Tsunami may be produced."
