Fornax, God Of Invention And Inspiration

"Fornax doesn’t merely bestow innovation, he embeds the very desire to understand, to tinker, to improve. It's not just about crafting what we need, but imagining what we could become."
— Lensa Lux Lightview, Visionary Gnome Scholar and Mage
Fornax, the God of Invention and Inspiration, the central deity in the gnome pantheon of Domen Aria, is revered for his domain over creativity and mechanical innovation. Although he is considered a gnomish deity he is worshipped and prayed to by many others, as his influence is the spiritual force driving innovation across all races. He is associated with symbols such as the Infinite Gear and the Flaming Anvil, that represent infinite improvement, invention, and inspiration and creation. It is often said that he can be found working alongside his best friend, the dwarven deity, Vakman, God Of Crafters And Craftsmanship.

Realm

Fornax, as the God of Invention and Inspiration, resides in a unique divine realm known as the Workshop of Stars. This ethereal plane mirrors the boundless creativity and celestial origin of Fornax himself. It is a vast expanse where the skies are a perpetual canvas of twilight, dotted with constellations that spark with divine energy, and the ground is scattered with workshops of all sizes and forms.   Each workshops is an ever evolving testament to invention. These range from small, cluttered spaces overflowing with tools and materials, to grand halls filled with intricate machinery and magical artifacts, each reflecting the endless possibilities of creation.   At the center of the Workshop of Stars is the Astral Workbench, a massive celestial workspace where Fornax designs and fabricates the most divine of his creations. This workbench is said to be the source of all new inventions, where ideas born in the mortal world are refined into their ideal forms.   Flowing through the realm is a luminous river made of molten metal and stardust. This river provides the materials needed for the divine creations and is believed to inspire all who gaze upon it or use its resources.   Adjacent to Fornax's central workshop is a vast library known as the Schematica Eternal, containing the blueprints and designs of every invention ever conceived, both divine and mortal. This archive is overseen by celestial librarians, who catalog the ever-expanding collection of knowledge.   The Workshop of Stars is connected to the mortal world through the dreams and visions of inventors. Fornax occasionally communicates with his followers by sending them inspiration through these connections, manifesting as sudden insights or dreams filled with intricate designs and solutions. The realm also has portals that open during significant celestial events, allowing particularly devout followers or chosen inventors to visit and receive direct guidance from Fornax. It is said that this realm and that of Vakman's, Forge of Creation, are physically connected to each other through secret means.   This realm not only serves as Fornax’s home and workspace but also as a symbol of his influence over innovation and the interconnectedness of celestial power and creativity. It’s a place where the divine and the inventive merge, creating a fountain of endless possibilities that feed back into the mortal world.
