Canis, The Wolf-Headed God

“Canis is not merely a god of the hunt, he is a god of structure, of earned leadership, of the unbreakable bond between those who stand together. To his followers, strength is not brute force alone, but discipline, loyalty, and the wisdom to know one’s place. In a world of chaos and betrayal, perhaps it is not the wolf we should fear, but the pack that follows him.”
— Archivist Selmar Dorn, scholar of divine hierarchies, from The Doctrine Of The Wild Gods.
Canis, The Wolf-Headed God, is the deity of hunting, tracking, packs, hierarchy, and cooperation. In the untamed wilds where the strong lead and the worthy follow, he is one deity whose presence commands both reverence and fear. A divine embodiment of instinct and order, strength and discipline, Canis is the eternal Alpha, the unyielding force that binds the laws of the wild to the structure of the hunt. His dominion extends over all who live by the ways of the pack, from the Canin race he created, to hunters, warriors, and leaders who understand that unity is strength and hierarchy is law.   Canis is depicted as a towering, muscular figure with the head of a majestic grey wolf, his piercing green eyes glowing with wisdom and primal power. He moves with the grace of a hunter and the command of a leader, clad only in a gold-embroidered brown loincloth and wielding his legendary twin black-metal axes, Fang & Claw, which always return to his hands when thrown. When he takes his beast form, he becomes a massive grey wolf, a spectral predator whose very presence bends nature to his will.   He governs the balance between civilization and the wild, teaching that neither lawlessness nor tyranny can lead to true strength, only through earned leadership, disciplined cooperation, and unshakable loyalty can a society thrive. He rewards those who prove themselves through trial, endurance, and wisdom, and punishes those who betray their pack, forsake their oaths, or disrupt the natural order.   His followers, from the elite Huntlords and Fangborn warriors to the mystic Howling Seers, honor him through great hunts, blood-oath rituals, and trials of leadership, all seeking to embody his ideals of strength through unity. Among his worshippers, tales whisper of an ancient betrayal, that Canis was tricked into creating the first werewolf, Lupus, an abomination that defied the balance he sought to uphold. Whether this is truth or legend, it fuels the eternal conflict between the loyal and the forsaken, the disciplined and the savage.   From his celestial domain, The Eternal Wilds, Canis watches the mortal world, ensuring that the strong lead with wisdom, the worthy follow with honor, and the betrayers are hunted without mercy. His name is spoken in the deep forests, in war camps, and in the silent tracking of prey. To those who swear their loyalty to him, he grants the instincts of the predator, the endurance of the survivor, and the unbreakable bonds of the pack. To those who forsake him, he is the hunter whose shadow never fades, the howling force that calls the betrayer home, to judgment, to exile, or to death.   To walk the path of Canis is to embrace the wild within, tempered by order, bound by oaths, and driven by the eternal hunt.

Creation Myth

Canis is said to have been born from The Primal Wilds, an untamed realm where only the strongest, fastest, and most cunning survived. Unlike many gods who rose through divine conflict, Canis claimed his place through leadership, uniting the strongest beasts into the first great pack. He became the master of cooperation and discipline, teaching that a lone hunter may die, but a well-led pack will endure.

Realm

Canis resides in The Eternal Wilds, a vast and untamed divine realm where the laws of nature reign supreme. It is a plane of endless forests, towering mountains, and boundless hunting grounds, untouched by civilization and ruled by the primal balance of predator and prey. The land itself pulses with life, rivers flow with crystalline waters, ancient trees stand tall as sentinels of time, and the air is filled with the distant howls of spirits honoring their Alpha.   The Eternal Wilds is a realm of hierarchy and order, where packs of celestial wolves, spectral Canin warriors, and divine hunters serve Canis in perfect unity. It is a place of constant trial and challenge, where only those who respect the pack and understand the hunt may find their place. The strongest lead, the worthy follow, and the dishonorable are cast out to wander the wilds alone.   At the heart of this realm lies The Apex Spire, a colossal, ancient rock formation where Canis watches over his domain. It is said that all howls in the wilds eventually echo to this place, and those who seek the wisdom of Canis must prove their worth by reaching its peak.   Some myths claim that The Eternal Wilds exists at the border between the mortal world and the afterlife, serving as a resting place for noble hunters, warriors, and loyal beasts who have earned a place in Canis’ divine pack. Others believe it is a hidden, primal plane, separate from all others, where Canis keeps the true balance of nature preserved beyond the reach of meddling gods and mortal ambitions.

Divine Domains

Canis holds dominion over several divine domains, each reflecting his nature as the God of hunting, tracking, packs, hierarchy, and cooperation.

Major Domains:

Hunting: Canis governs the hunt, ensuring it remains a balance of skill, patience, and respect for nature. He blesses those who hunt with purpose and honor.   Tracking: He is the master of pursuit, guiding those who seek prey, enemies, or lost souls. His followers are unmatched in reading trails and sensing hidden paths.   Packs & Brotherhood: Canis teaches the strength of unity, loyalty, and cooperation. He rewards those who uphold the bonds of family, brotherhood, and leadership.   Hierarchy & Order: Every being has a place, and Canis ensures structure and discipline within packs, societies, and even battle formations. Leadership must be earned, not given.   Warfare Tactics: Though not a war god, Canis teaches strategy, ambush tactics, and the importance of working as a unit, much like a wolf pack in battle.

Minor Domains:

Instinct & Foresight: Canis grants heightened intuition and an uncanny ability to anticipate danger or opportunity.   Loyalty & Oaths: Betrayal is the greatest sin in his eyes, and he holds domain over sacred bonds, ensuring that oaths of loyalty are honored.   Moonlight & The Night Hunt: The full moon is sacred to Canis, and he is associated with nocturnal hunts, heightened senses, and the silent pursuit of prey under its glow.   Spiritual Guidance Through Howls & Dreams: Some claim that Canis speaks through the howls of wolves or sends cryptic visions to those seeking wisdom in the wilderness.

Holy Books & Codes

The Howling Creed: A collection of tenets, parables, and lessons about loyalty, hierarchy, and survival. It is the core doctrine of Canis' faith, memorized and recited by pack leaders, warriors, and priests. These predate written history and are believed to have been passed down orally for centuries and are attributed to Canis' first mortal Alpha.   The Huntlord’s Codex: A tactical and survival guide, detailing the sacred art of the hunt, ambush strategies, tracking methods, and the importance of honorable kills. It also includes rituals for blessing weapons and marking prey. Written by the legendary Canin warrior, High Huntmaster Bellor Strongfang, approximately 6,000 years ago.   The Book Of The Apex Trials: Chronicles divine trials and sacred rites, including The Rite Of The Alpha, The Bloodmoon Hunt, and The Call Of The Pack. It serves as both a holy text and a test of worthiness for leaders. Written by Elder Seer Nawrik Moonbane of The Fangborn Order, approximately 5,000 years ago.   The Oath Of Fangs: A strict code of loyalty and brotherhood, outlining the laws of oaths, the punishment for treachery, and the trials required to prove one’s devotion to Canis. It is often used in warrior lodges and by leaders who swear oaths of loyalty. Authored by Elder Fangborn Kinson Wolfheart, approximately 3,000 years ago after a great betrayal fractured the faithful.   The Silent Hunt: A controversial text hidden by certain sects, detailing the art of hunting those who betray their packs or forsake the ways of Canis. Some claim it is a manual for assassins, while others argue it is a guide to divine justice. Written in secrecy about 1,500 years ago by an unnamed Canin ranger known as The Ghostwalker.   Each of these texts holds different significance depending on the sect of Canis’ faith, from hunters and warriors to priests and seers.

Tenets of Faith

The tenets of faith for the followers of Canis reflect his philosophy of honor, loyalty, unity, merit, strength, instinct, and wisdom. These tenets define the faith of Canis’ followers, shaping warriors, hunters, and leaders alike.

The Creed Of The Pack

The Pack Is Strength: A lone wolf is weak, but a pack endures. Loyalty, unity, and cooperation are sacred. Stand by your kin, protect your own, and never forsake those who have earned your trust.   Hierarchy Is Law: Order must be maintained. Leadership is not given, but earned through strength, wisdom, and merit. The strong lead, the worthy follow, and the disloyal are cast out.   The Hunt Must Be Honorable: To take life without need is wasteful, to hunt without skill is shameful. Respect the balance of predator and prey, and never kill for sport alone.   Oaths Are Sacred: A promise is a bond, and a broken vow is a betrayal. Honor your word, uphold your duties, and never turn against those who trust you. Oath-breakers are worse than enemies.   Instinct And Reason Must Be Balanced: Strength without control is dangerous, and wisdom without action is meaningless. Master both your instincts and your mind, for only then will you lead and survive.   Cowardice Is Unforgivable: To flee when duty calls, to abandon one’s kin, or to betray one’s cause is the greatest dishonor. Stand firm, even in the face of death, for Canis watches all.

Holidays

These sacred days shape the faith and culture of Canis’ followers, reinforcing their values of loyalty, strength, and order.   The Bloodmoon Hunt: Is the holiest night for Canis’ followers, held on the first full moon of autumn when the Blood Moon rises. This sacred event honors the primal hunt, the strength of the pack, and the eternal bond between hunter and prey. Devotees partake in a great ceremonial hunt, tracking a beast chosen by the elders to test their skill and discipline. Warriors mark their bodies with blood-red war paint, symbolizing their connection to Canis and the raw power of the hunt. Once the prey is felled, a great feast follows, where tales of legendary hunts and fallen packmates are shared. Some sects believe that by meditating under the Blood Moon, they may receive divine visions from Canis himself.   The Rite Of The Alpha: Is a sacred trial performed whenever a new leader must be chosen or during a major shift in power. Canis’ followers believe leadership should be earned, not given, and only the strongest, wisest, and most disciplined may rule. The challengers must undergo combat trials, strategic contests, or feats of endurance, proving their worth before their pack. The victor swears an unbreakable blood oath upon the Hunter’s Oathblade, ensuring their rule is bound by Canis’ will. In some regions, the Howling Seers oversee the ritual, interpreting divine omens from the outcome. The Rite Of The Alpha reinforces Canis' belief that true leaders must be willing to fight for their place and protect those under their command.   The Howl Of Remembrance: Takes place on the longest night of winter, a time when the pack is at its most vulnerable. This solemn night is dedicated to honoring the spirits of fallen warriors, hunters, and kin. At midnight, Canis’ faithful gather in the wild and howl together, believing their voices carry the names of the dead to their god. Fires are lit as stories of the fallen are told, ensuring they are never forgotten. Some packs leave offerings of fresh meat on sacred stones, believing that honored spirits will feast beside them. This ritual serves as both mourning and celebration, reinforcing the idea that no hunter, warrior, or leader is ever truly lost as long as their deeds are remembered.   The Call Of The Pack: Is a festival of unity and brotherhood, celebrated on the spring equinox as a time of renewal. It is a day for strengthening alliances, healing old divisions, and reaffirming sacred oaths of loyalty. Warrior bands, mercenary groups, and Canin tribes hold oath-renewal ceremonies, swearing their continued devotion to one another beneath Canis’ gaze. Young hunters partake in their first trials, marking their transition into adulthood, while seasoned warriors engage in pack hunts and competitions, testing their tracking skills, endurance, and teamwork. The day concludes with a great communal feast, where all are welcome, symbolizing the strength found in unity. The Call Of The Pack reminds all followers of Canis that no one thrives alone, and loyalty to one’s kin is the greatest strength of all.   The Shadow Hunt: Is a rare and solemn ritual, performed only when an oath-breaker or traitor must be hunted down. To Canis, betrayal is the greatest sin, and those who forsake their pack or break sacred oaths are given no mercy. When the decree is made, the Fangborn or Huntlords gather in silence, preparing for the hunt. No words are spoken until their prey is found and justice is delivered. This hunt is relentless, spanning months or even years if necessary, for no betrayer shall escape Canis’ judgment. Once the target is slain, their name is erased from all records, ensuring they are forgotten in the eyes of both gods and mortals. The Shadow Hunt is a grim but necessary act, reinforcing the unbreakable laws of loyalty and hierarchy among Canis’ followers.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Preserve The Balance Of Order And Instinct: Canis seeks to maintain the balance between civilization and the wild, ensuring that both structured hierarchy and natural instincts are respected.   Strengthen The Pack: His goal is to foster loyalty, unity, and discipline among his followers, guiding them to become stronger together.   Teach The Worth Of Leadership: Canis desires a world where leaders earn their place through merit and the unworthy do not hold power.   Purge Oath-Breakers And Betrayers: He commands his faithful to hunt down those who betray their oaths or abandon their kin, as they threaten the integrity of the pack.   Guide Hunters And Warriors: He blesses those who follow honorable hunting, tactical warfare, and survivalist ideals, ensuring they never falter in their purpose.

Secret Goals:

The True Hunt: Some whisper that Canis is searching for something, or someone, across planes of existence, a quarry known only to him. Some suspect it may be Lupus, the First Werewolf, or perhaps something even older.   The Alpha’s Ascension: Canis may seek to rise beyond his current divine station, claiming greater dominion over order, war, or survival itself. If so, his followers are unknowingly helping him shape the world into his ideal vision.   The Cull Of The Weak: While he openly values survival, some scholars believe Canis prepares for an age of trials, where only the strongest and most disciplined will endure, reshaping the world into a domain of pure hierarchy.   A War Of Packs: There are myths that Canis prepares for an inevitable divine war, one that will test the unity of his faithful and determine the fate of gods and mortals alike.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Canis's avatar may appear differently to different people depending on his mood and circumstances, however he is always an imposing and primal figure, standing taller than any mortal warrior, with a body honed for strength, speed, and endurance. His broad shoulders and muscular frame reflect the raw power of a predator, yet his movements are fluid and precise, like a master hunter always aware of his surroundings. His skin is somewhat rough and lightly covered in coarse hair, a mark of his connection to the wild.   His most striking feature is his wolf head, covered in thick, grey fur with streaks of darker shades near his ears and along his snout. His piercing green eyes are sharp and intelligent, glowing faintly when he is deep in thought or channeling divine power. His ears are always alert, and his expression shifts seamlessly between the calm authority of a leader and the fierce intensity of a predator on the hunt.   He is usually bare-chested, clad only in a gold-embroidered brown or earth-toned loincloth, emphasizing his primal nature and warrior’s discipline. Around his waist, he wears a thick leather belt adorned with wolf fangs and sacred runes, symbols of his divine power and dominion over the hunt. His forearms are sometimes wrapped in simple leather bracers, and his legs are built like those of a relentless runner, powerful and enduring.   In his hands, he wields his twin black-metal throwing axes, Fang & Claw, weapons of perfect balance and lethality. These axes, always returning to him when thrown, seem to hum with a quiet, restrained energy, as though eager for battle.   When he takes his beast form, Canis transforms into a massive grey wolf, his fur rippling like shadows under the moonlight. His eyes remain vivid green, and his very presence exudes an aura of silent command. In this form, he is an unstoppable force of nature, embodying the instincts and hierarchy of the pack in its purest form.

Mental characteristics

Morality & Philosophy

Canis embodies a philosophy of order through cooperation, strength through unity, and survival through discipline. He does not concern himself with notions of cruelty or mercy, but instead values structure, loyalty, and pragmatism above all else. To him, the natural order is paramount, every being has a place, and true balance exists only when leadership and servitude, predator and prey, function in harmony. A lone wolf is vulnerable, but a well-led pack thrives. Cooperation, trust, and discipline ensure survival, and those who defy these principles are cast out.   Hierarchy is not just necessary, it is natural. Leadership must be earned through strength, wisdom, and capability, while the weak must either prove themselves or accept their place within the pack. Canis teaches that the hunt must be honorable, for killing is part of survival, but wastefulness and cruelty disrupt the natural order. He demands loyalty above all else, considering betrayal the gravest of sins. A pack survives by trust, and those who break this trust, whether through treachery, cowardice, or abandonment, are seen as the worst of offenders.   To Canis, morality is not a question of good or evil, but of maintaining order and ensuring survival. He does not punish cruelty, nor does he reward kindness, only discipline and purpose matter. Warriors, hunters, and strategists who fight with skill and reason earn his respect, while reckless bloodshed and undisciplined chaos earn only his disdain. Mercy, in his eyes, must be earned, not freely given. A pack may shelter the weak, but only if they contribute, those who cannot or will not must be left behind. Above all, Canis despises oath-breakers, cowards, and those who abandon their duty, whether to their pack, kingdom, or cause. His philosophy makes him a revered figure among leaders, hunters, and tacticians, yet feared by those who reject hierarchy or seek absolute freedom. Canis is not a god of kindness or leniency, he is a god of discipline, loyalty, and the unyielding law of the wild.

The Creation Of The Canin Race

Canis shaped the Canin, a race of dog-people, from the spirits of loyal hunting hounds and the essence of the untamed wilderness. He gave them instincts of both order and wildness, forming strict hierarchies, yet embracing their primal heritage. Canins are known for their steadfast loyalty, strategic minds, and pack mentality, traits that stem from their divine creator.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The Wolf’s Head Ouroboros: A stylized wolf’s head biting its own tail, forming a circular emblem. This symbolizes the eternal cycle of leadership and servitude, predator and prey, life and death, and the unbroken unity of the pack.   The Twin Fangs: Two parallel slashes or crossed fangs, representing Fang & Claw, his divine axes. This sigil is a mark of warriors, hunters, and tacticians, signifying precision, discipline, and the balance of instinct and strategy.   The Howling Crescent: A wolf silhouette howling at a crescent moon, symbolizing the connection between Canis and the night, guidance through howls, and the power of dreams and instinct. Often used by mystics, shamans, and those seeking divine insight.   The Apex Spiral: A spiraling wolf track leading upward, representing the ascent to strength, hierarchy, and divine trials. It is commonly engraved on sacred stones in hunting grounds and trial sites for those proving their worth.   The Pack’s Mark: Three interlocked claw marks forming a triangular pattern, symbolizing unity, cooperation, and the sacred bond of the pack. Often branded or painted on shields, banners, and the bodies of warriors or oath-sworn brothers.

Religious Artifacts

Fang & Claw (The Divine Axes Of Canis): A pair of black-metal throwing axes, perfectly balanced and enchanted to always return to their wielder’s hands. They are symbols of Canis’ duality, discipline and instinct, order and ferocity. Each strike carries the force of a pack’s fury, and in battle, they hum with divine energy, striking down oath-breakers and cowards.   They are said to have been forged by Canis himself in The Eternal Wilds, using the essence of a slain celestial beast that once challenged his rule. They existed before mortal history and predate even the first Canin. They are always in Canis’ possession, though some believe their echoes manifest as lesser artifacts, wielded by his chosen champions.     The Bloodmoon Fang: A massive canine tooth, said to be from Canis’ own divine beast form, stained red with ancient blood. When wielded in battle, it enhances the wielder’s instincts, sharpens their senses, and grants unparalleled speed and agility. However, prolonged use may drive the wielder into a feral rage, making them as dangerous to allies as to enemies.   This fang is said to have fallen from Canis’ maw during an ancient divine battle amongst the gods. It is rumored to be hidden within the ruins of a forgotten temple, guarded by spectral wolves who allow only the worthy to claim it.     The Moonshadow Cloak: A legendary grey pelt cloak, made from the hide of a celestial wolf gifted by Canis himself. When worn, it grants near-invisibility under moonlight, muffles footsteps, and allows the wearer to move as silently as a stalking predator. It is prized by rangers and assassins loyal to Canis, and is used to pursue prey without being seen or heard.   Crafted 5,000 years ago during the rise of the first Seers. It is blessed by The Howling Seers, said to be woven by the very winds of the Moonshadow Glade. It is believed to be kept within the Moonshadow Glade, and only granted to those who prove themselves worthy in sacred trials.     The Hunter’s Oathblade: A ceremonial dagger, its hilt wrapped in wolfhide leather, and its blade engraved with runes of binding and loyalty. Any blood oath sworn upon this blade is enforced by divine will, to break it results in the oathbreaker being marked by Canis, forever hunted by his followers.   Forged 4,000 years ago after a great betrayal fractured The Huntlords. It was created by Taelor Longhowl, High Huntmaster of The Huntlords, to ensure unbreakable pacts among warbands. It is thought to be held in The Den Of The Eternal Wilds, where it is used in sacred oaths of loyalty.     The Apex Crown: A wreath of silver wolf fangs, once belonging to legendary Alpha warriors, bound together by enchanted leather. The wearer gains Canis’ blessing, allowing them to command their pack with absolute authority, resist mind-altering magic, and exude an aura of dominance that lesser beings instinctively obey.   Crafted approximately 3,000 years ago, during The Canin Wars Of Leadership, by Elder Fangborn Kinson Wolfheart, a revered warlord, fighting to unify rival Canin clans under a single banner. The crown was lost after the fall of Kinson’s kingdom, and is rumored to be buried in the ruins of Fanglorn Keep.

Worshipers Of Canis

The Huntlords: Are the most revered warrior-hunters of Canis, an elite order of rangers, warriors, and beastmasters who ensure that all hunting is done with skill, honor, and respect for nature’s balance. They believe in discipline, tactical mastery, and unwavering pack loyalty, strengthening communities through structured leadership. Their headquarters, The Den Of The Eternal Wilds, lies deep within an ancient forest, where new initiates undergo rigorous training in divine hunting techniques.   The Fangborn: Are a militant brotherhood of tacticians and war leaders who apply Canis’ principles of pack warfare to battle. They train extensively in formation fighting, flanking tactics, and strategic ambushes inspired by wolf pack behavior. To them, strength and loyalty are the highest virtues, and only those who prove their worth through battle deserve to lead. Their stronghold, Fanglorn Keep, is a fortress carved into a mountain, where aspiring warriors must undergo grueling trials to earn the mark of The Fangborn.   The Howling Seers: Are a secretive order of mystics, dream-walkers, and shamans who claim to commune with Canis through the howls of wolves, the patterns of the hunt, and visions granted by the moon. They act as spiritual guides, interpreting omens and advising leaders on matters of fate and strategy. Their sacred sanctuary, The Moonshadow Glade, lies hidden in the wilds, where the most gifted seers receive cryptic visions from their god.   The Bloodmoon Pact: Is a fanatical sect that believes Canis desires the strong to rule and the weak to perish. They enforce a brutal doctrine where only the most powerful, cunning, and disciplined individuals deserve to survive. Their trials are often deadly, forcing initiates to prove their worth through ruthless combat and survival challenges. Hidden within The Crimson Den, a fortress deep in the wilds, they train in bloodshed, ensuring that only the fittest remain among their ranks.

Opponents Of Canis

The Forsaken Howl: Is a dark cult that reveres Lupus, the First Werewolf, believing that he is the true Alpha and that Canis is a traitor who shackles the wild. They embrace unrestrained savagery, rejecting hierarchy and civilization in favor of total instinct. For them, the strong should hunt alone, and laws are meaningless. Their initiates undergo vicious trials in The Beast Warrens, a vast labyrinth of caverns where only those who fully embrace the beast within are accepted.   The Black Maw: A corrupted offshoot of Canis’ faith that distorts the sacred hunt into a bloodthirsty ritual of cannibalism and slaughter. They believe that the ultimate hunt is preying upon one’s own kin, proving that only the strongest deserve to exist. They desecrate Canis’ sacred sites, turning them into charnel pits of sacrifice. Their unholy temple, The Black Hollow, lies underground, where horrific rituals are conducted under the eerie glow of the blood moon.   The Chainbound: Is a faction of extreme lawkeepers who see Canis’ belief in natural hierarchy as too wild and chaotic. They reject the idea that strength alone should determine leadership, advocating instead for rigid governance, enforced law, and controlled civilization. To them, packs should be ruled by written law, not primal instinct. Their monolithic fortress, The Ivory Bastion, is a place of strict doctrine, where order is absolute and deviation is crushed under an iron rule.

Rumors

The Alpha’s Challenge: Some whisper that Canis seeks a worthy successor, a mortal strong enough to claim his mantle and ascend as the new divine Alpha. Whether this is a test, a prophecy, or a deception, none can say, but warriors and warlords alike dream of proving themselves worthy in his eyes.   The First Betrayal: Many believe that Canis was tricked into creating the first werewolf, Lupus, but some claim he did so willingly, hoping to create the perfect hunter. When Lupus embraced unrestrained savagery, Canis was forced to cast him out, and now seeks to undo his greatest mistake by purging his twisted creation.   The Howl In The Void: Legends tell of a mournful howl heard between worlds, an eerie, echoing sound that even the gods acknowledge. Some say it is Canis hunting a divine prey, others believe it is the cry of something he lost, perhaps a companion, a lover, or even his own creator.   The Secret Pact: There are whispers that Canis once made an oath with an unknown deity, one that bound him to the role of guardian and judge. Some claim this pact prevents him from ruling outright, while others suggest he is bound by a law even he cannot break, one that will one day force him to choose between the pack and the hunt.   The Eclipse Hunt: A rare celestial event known as the Eclipse Of The Hunt is said to signal a time when Canis himself descends to the mortal world in disguise. Some believe he tests mortals in secret, walking among them as a lone wolf or a silent hunter, watching for those who are truly worthy.   The Forgotten Name: Ancient texts suggest that Canis was not always his name, that he once bore a title now erased from history. Some speculate that his true name holds great power, while others believe it was stolen or hidden to prevent a fate he once defied.

The Mystery Of Lupus, The First Werewolf

One of the most debated myths about Canis is whether he was tricked into creating the first werewolf, Lupus. Some stories say a cunning trickster god convinced Canis that the perfect hunter needed to balance man and beast completely. Others claim that Lupus, once the most favored of Canis’ children, betrayed his god’s teachings and embraced unbridled savagery, losing his place in the divine order.   Whether or not Canis truly created werewolves, or if he regrets their existence, is unknown. What is certain is that most werewolves are cursed, exiled, and despised by the Canin for forsaking the balance between beast and reason. Some worship Lupus instead, believing him to be a dark, rebellious son of Canis, who seeks to overturn hierarchy in favor of pure strength.
“Canis does not grant power, he demands you earn it. He does not offer mercy, he teaches you to survive without it. Stand strong, honor your pack, and let your deeds prove your worth, for the Alpha watches, and he suffers no weakness.”
