Bluelle Mothwind

Bluelle Greenbark was an apothecary and conjurer from the Cattleya clan and born many, many centuries ago during the Age of Expansion. She is credited with writing several ancient texts about herbology, medicinal plants and herbs, as well those describing several lost lands, including Whitehart Forest, Elderwood, Mistwood, and theories on the location of Hisalune.
She wed Pothian Mothwind early in life and joined him and the Mistwood Rangers on their journeys throughout the woodlands. Together they saved many elven towns and natural wonders from the ravages of the giants, orcs, goblins, and gnolls, where she attained the rank of Sylvan Warden. She and the rangers were sadly killed by the Copperfang Orcs in the Fireseed Mountains on the border of Mistwood.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Although small and frail compared to humans, Bluelle is extremely quick and athletic. What she lacks in pure physical strength she makes up for in dexterity, intelligence, and wisdom.

Identifying Characteristics

Bluelle has an unusual combination of features for an elf. While wood elves tend to have lighter hair or even shades of brown and green eyes, she has dark black hair and blue eyes.

Apparel & Accessories

Notebooks, scrolls, potions, powders, salves, lotions, balms, ointments, and herbs always accompany Bluelle on her adventures. She is extremely well prepared for any kind of injury, sickness, or malady that might befall her or her companions.

Specialized Equipment

In addition to the standard adventuring equipment, Bluelle also carries several medicinal herbs and small magical potions, powders, and salves. Her most notable gear include the Staff Of Haze, the Wand Of Sylvan Summoning, and the Headband Of The Moth.
The Staff Of Haze allows Bluelle to obscure herself and those around her in a silent impenetrable hazy fog, or blur the vision of a target, or create a numbing and blinding effect on those that are struck by the staff. It can also absorb and clear away all fog in the immediate area. This fog or any moisture in the air can be condensed into potable drinking water.
The Wand Of Sylvan Summoning allows her to call forth several swarms of small forest creatures or a few medium sized creatures or one large creature, to aid her in battles.
The Headband Of The Moth is small circlet with protruding moth-like wings. This unique device was created by Bluelle in conjunction with her mentor Roarst Springstar. This magical item grants the wearer the ability to summon and control a vast multitude of rainbow colored moths that can dazzle, confuse, and interrupt the intended target, while she or others attack. It also allows the wearer to slowly flutter down safely from any height as long as concentration is maintained. Additionally the headband grants immunity from poisons and sleep spells or abilities, and eliminates the wearers need for sleep or rest while it is worn.

Her vast knowledge of the wilderness and plants began as a child when her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles would take her into the forest to learn about the varied plants and animals of the woodlands. She then went to the Academy of Herbology and Healing in Everwood before apprenticing with Roarst Springstar, the conjurer. Here she learned the finer points of conjuration and became an accomplished apothecary.

Intellectual Characteristics

Bluelle is extremely intelligent and wise. Her years at the academy and apprenticeship led her to become very well read and experienced with plants, animals, and magic. She has a very strong memory and quick mind that allows her to almost instantly analyze a situation to see how nature is being affected or how nature can be used to remedy the situation.

Bluelle fiercely believes in the sanctity of nature and is vehemently opposed to anyone destroying nature or hurting the animals. She believes that she and all elves are the guardians of nature and should be willing to lay down their lives to protect it.

Motivation

Bluelle left her apothecary shop and joined her husband and his companions on their adventures and quests to protect the forests of the area. Although hesitant to due physical battle she was always eager to help heal and protect all of the party members.

Bluelle loves all plants and animals and gets quite emotional whenever any of them and injured, sick, or killed.

Bluelle married the elven ranger, Pothian Mothwind and had two sons and a daughter. The first born was her son, Pothalas Mothwind. Second born was daughter, Emalla Mothwind – Cedarfall, and finally her last child was a son, Gracin Mothwind.

Like most modern elves, Bluelle venerates the elven pantheon known as The Eight Points Of Light. These deities consist of Alegria, Goddess Of Joy And Happiness, Raksturs, God Of Nature, Spurcus, God Of Beasts, Mimea, Goddess Of Plants, Sanaa, Goddess Of Art, Baldoria, Goddess of Revelry, Daina, Goddess Of Music And Songs, and Tarian, God Of Dance. However, due to her vast interest and skill with plants, Bluelle favors Mimea the most.

Bluelle is incredibly kind, well mannered, and polite to everyone that she encounters. Her charisma is evident in all of the friends that she makes. She is a great listener and always takes time to inquire about her customers, friends’ families, and even strangers that she meets.

Although she had no pets, there were many varieties of housplant kept within her home and she quite enjoyed gardening and creating little bird sanctuaries nearby.

Special Abilities:

Like all wood elves, Bluelle has several abilities and traits that humans would consider special. Aside from incredible dexterity, deft hands, and quick reaction times, she is also very nimble and excellent at balance.
Her excellent hearing, sense of smell, and strong eyesight allow her to easily recognize things that are out of place or hidden. She can also see twice as far as human can in poor light due to her elven low-light vision.
She is immune to sleep spells and effects, and her woodland knowledge and recognition allows her to easily see through illusions that are either in forests or attempt to recreate forest environments. Additionally she has a high resistance to magical enchantments and charm spells and effects.
Most woodland animals perceive her as not only a part of nature and another forest creature, but also as a friend and do not mind sharing space with her.
