Vargas Vallakovich
Vargas Vallakovich is the Burgomaster of Vallaki. Vargas is married to Lydia. They have a biological son Victor and Vargas also adopted Izek Strazni.
Vargas as a reputation of cruelty and rules Vallaki as a police state. Vargas insists on a series of festivals held weekly in Vallaki which he believes keep the devil Strahd at bay. Vargas demands full attendance at all festivals and believes if he can make everyone in Vallaki happy it will break the curse upon Vallaki and Barovia. Anyone who does not participate in the festivals or is caught speeking negatively about them is charged with malicious unhappiness. Vagas regularly says in many conversations, "All will be well."
The party was introduced to Vargas at the Blue Water Tavern by the dwarf Roarke whom they met at the Vallaki smithy.
Vargas rewarded the party with coins valued at 400gp and ownership of the Wachterhaus in the wake of the Wachter coup for their assistance in regaining control of the city.
