Summercamp 2026 prep

This year, I pledge to write 24 articles for Summer Camp 2026 and go for Gold, as I did last year.

Last year’s Summer Camp gave me the motivation I needed to breathe new life into the Kingdom of Doriande. It helped me create new threads, deepen old ones, and turn the kingdom from a central idea into a living place, full of history, culture, faith, politics, and people.

This year, I want to look beyond its borders.

My goal for Summer Camp 2026 is to expand Dolvareth outward from the Kingdom of Doriande and explore the wider world around it. Caleh, the Steppes, and the southern archipelago will draw much of my focus, along with the peoples, conflicts, myths, trade routes, and mysteries that connect them to Doriande.

I also pledge to return to the foundations of my world presentation by updating my CSS and front page later on, so that Dolvareth can better reflect the world it has become.

For now, I step beyond the familiar roads of Doriande and into the wider lands of Dolvareth.

Week 1

Oh, how wonderful it is that the themes of this year’s Summer Camp are centered around the seasons.

In Dolvareth, at least according to the Garveth Calendar, there are four months, each coinciding with one of the four seasons: Blossom, Harvest, Wilt, and Sleep. So we begin with Blossom, and what better month could there be for love than one with such a name?

Passing the torch to this article is my recent entry for the Hitchhiker’s Guide, one involving a certain Mallora Julae, a great admirer of love herself. I believe that, were a settlement to exist only because of love, or to be dedicated to love, Malljule would surely have included it in her works.

Unless, of course, she wanted to keep it all for herself.

Then again, that does not sound much like the great bard.
