A largely unexplored world, where smaller, isolated kingdoms are the centers of adventure and discovery

Welcome to Dolvareth, a world I’ve been working on for a long time.
Grab a seat, and let me take you to the Kingdom of Doriande — a small, relatively isolated peninsula in the south that has seen more than its fair share of action.

From its struggles and triumphs have sprung many great stories, which I want to share with you. You shall be amazed.

Cliché, you say? You’ve already heard them all? That’s fine, I understand. Many stories do share the same roots, the same tropes and moral lessons, as civilizations everywhere tried to give voice to the things that truly matter: existence, life, death, love, war, the simplest joys and the deepest fears, the cosmos, and the meaning of everything.

But here, you don’t just have to read or listen. You can take part. This world is meant to be inhabited by many; claimed as a home, explored through uncharted paths, and shaped by countless stories yet untold.

Dolvareth is not a land of cataclysm, nor the last bastion of civilization. It is not a place where magic overwhelms everything, nor one where humans are absent. It is a fantastical yet grounded world: familiar enough to meet your expectations, but filled with the unexpected just beyond your sight.

Above all, this is a stage for people to tell their own stories.
A world designed to serve as a believable backdrop for your fantasy RPGs.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do creating it.

The people that shape Doriande

To begin, you may explore the story of the Dorians, as told by the renowned storyteller Malljule.

In that journey through the ancient Whispering Forest, they were silently watched by its denizens, some of which were themselves mortal folk, albeit different. Some Pylmae eventually were curious enough to leave Anara's embrace and contact them, joining their settlements and society.

But that is only the tale of their beginnings. The Dorians did not overcome the primal fear of the Age of Barbarity until they encountered the dwarves of Rolfgar. The Rolfgari had faced the same fear with courage and, though beaten they were not defeated, carrying the light of civilization with them as they spread across the world.

A place rich with History

Many things fall from the sky, but Kingdoms are not among them.

What began as scattered barbaric settlements slowly grew into towns and cities, shaped by craft, trade, and seafaring. With prosperity came ambition, and with ambition came power.

The long struggle against the forces of Nature gave way to rivalry between the two great cities of Fiorlas and Skarm, whose competition for dominance defined much of the peninsula’s early history.

As Doriande remained divided between them, a greater threat was gathering beyond their sight. When it finally revealed itself, the Army of Father War swept into the land, forcing old rivals into uneasy cooperation and giving rise to the Alliance of the Forts

Though this marked the first step toward unity, it was not until the Second Invasion of Doriande that its necessity became undeniable, and the Kingdom was truly born.

As you travel with caravans along the King's Highway, you will surely hear the ballad of Dwerkivir recited.

Find yourself among sailors in a Skarmite establishment, and the shanty of Captain Oleg will not be far behind.
