Shattering of the Wolf Plateau

The 3rd War for Independence waged by several temples in the Low Peaks was brought to a close with the Shattering of the Wolf Plateau, where the Aelf Wolf Temples attempted to grant their Wolf God mortal form so they could protect the many kingdoms that ruled the foothills of the western Low Peaks of Zhatar. Instead, it sank the mountains into the ground. General Ze Faingnar would take the throne of Xixuegui.

The ritual the Aelfs conducted would be almost as disastrous as Mul-Zamain's world wound. It sank the High Peaks of Zhattar and Low Peaks of Zhatar on the continent of Maingye down by several thousand meters, destroying the Sotteran below with cave-ins and falling rubble.

The Low Peaks would become uninhabitable, so the Aelfs would incorporate themselves into the various kingdoms and ethnic groups of the region, abandoning their culture. The Drow who lived far higher were killed during the world-shaking event. A few remnants of their civilization remain, but they are barely clinging to life, much like Xixuegui itself now.

While the wars would continue for a further year, it was less a war and more cleanup, granting Ze Faingnar the reputation he would need to claim the vacant throne.
