The Reign of Boh Wan, the Pox Emperor, was a Dark Age in Xixuegui, and also saw a marked increase in the potency and frequency of plagues and epidemics through all of Diyu. The first of the Necrocyte Cliques was started and sponsored by Boh Wan.

The Pox Emperor was a seemingly immortal Emperor of Xixuegui, who reigned during and was the direct cause of a Dark Age in the empire's history. While every Emperor before had been an autocrat, Boh Wan went out of his way to be as evil as possible. Randomly torturing subjects, using alchemy to create plagues he would release onto entire cities, sponsoring cults to create uncontrollable undead, things of that nature.

No one knows why he lived so long, as no alchemist before or since has been able to extend their life via artificial means. The more superstitious suspect he was an actual god sent by his fellows to punish the world for some transgression, while other more empirically minded believe he was Daemon touched or a Daemon in disguise. Either theory could be true. 

His penchant for being as evil as human possible led the Pox Emperor to make some stupid decisions, namely keeping every member of the Ze Dynasty as a corpse trophy in his palace, or as a living slave. It was the second that came back to bite him, as one from cadet house, Zeka Yang, escaped then came back and killed him.
