Salzane

Salzane (Draconic: Sal di Zanerith, lit. 'Mouth of Zanerith') is the capital of the Al'draken Republic and the largest city on Urdravrak. Once one of several floating cities in the Thaumaturgic Age, the Si'draken chose to permanently ground the city after the Sundering to avoid attracting unwanted attention from rival states.
The city was initially built around the castle of King Zanerith, the ruler of the kingdom of Alkur'iobath which maintained the largest military of any of the Si'draken kingdoms. In exchange for Zanerith's peaceful abdication, the city was chosen as the capital of the newly-formed republic and Zanerith retained his lands and estates, allowing the former king to profit off the expansion that took place in the early days of the republic.
