Alejandro
Alejandro is a superintelligent Greenbottle Blue Tarantula. Although genetically he is no different from others of his species, he has the equivalent of a human IQ of 97. This is thanks to the mental link he has formed with the Metahuman Beatrix Maddox.

Personal history
Alejandro was born in captivity and raised to be sold as a pet. Despite being naturally smarter than most of his kind, he wouldn't even become aware of his predicament until coming into contact with Beatrix Maddox.
When Alejandro entered Beatrix's field of influence, he immediately connected with her. As his mind expanded and he quickly realized that he seemed to be being held captive in a clear prison he began to call out to this mysterious presence that he could instinctively sense. Beatrix had briefly thought to keep walking as he would just forget about everything the moment their mental link was severed, but couldn't help and feel sorry for him.
Beatrix, hearing his desperate pleas managed to locate and rescue him. While she could also hear every other arachnid in the area, They all seemed to be content with the free meals and the safety of their boxed worlds. It was Alejandro's yearning for freedom that endeared him to her.
Ever since then, Alejandro and Beatrix have been inseparable. Beatrix with her self-consciousness about her physical appearance had found a loyal friend and Alejandro had found his savior queen who he now vows to protect.
