Beatrix Maddox
Physical Description
Special abilities
Passive Arachnid Based Telepathy - Beatrix can send and receive Images, thoughts, and feelings to members of the Arachnid family.
Passive Arachnid Intelligence Boosting - Any arachnid caught within her field of influence will experience a significant increase in its intelligence. This is not due to any physical change within the arachnid, but instead, Beatrix's own brain helping to offset their own.
Passive Arachnid Influance - While Beatrix can not directly control arachnids, she is imprinted in them as some sort of Queen-like figure. They will often go out of their way to make her happy and protect her as they see fit. They will often follow the orders she gives them but they have the capacity to disobey them.
Threat Level
GAMMAIf so desired, Beatrix could conceivably have hundreds to thousands of arachnids under her influence at any given time. A portion of these arachnids is bound to be poisonous to varying degrees.
Due to the radius of her field of effect, it is estimated that she could order an attack on a densely populated crowd that could result in hundreds of casualties and hundreds more injured is she was to fill her arachnid horde with only poisonous species.

Personal history
Beatrix's metahumanism was evident from birth due to her Pleonastic Mutation. Her life had been made difficult due to her condition as it had lead to excisive bullying, this would lead to her being pulled out of school completely and homeschooled.
Her abilities manifested when she was 13. The sudden influx of images, feeling, and thoughts from all around her proved to be too overwhelming and had to be hospitalized. The sedatives they gave her allowed for a dulling of her ability, giving her time to sort through what she was experiencing. It was at this time she realized that it was the thoughts of Spiders that she was hearing.
Once this was found to be true by testing from a local college, she began to learn how to deal with her ability. It only took her a few weeks to learn how to filter the incoming thoughts and when she learned she can send thoughts back she began to really like her power. As a girl that found it near impossible to make friends, she suddenly found herself surrounded with hundreds of them.
Despite her newfound friendship with members of the Arachnid family, she still had trouble speaking to other humans. Eventualy she would live on her own, and she had to be able to work. Beatrix eventually realized she could work from home as a telemarketer. While she would never claim she was fully happy with her line of work, It put food on the table and a roof over her head.
She felt trapped by her own insecurities about her physical appearance, to the point she only left her apartment once a week to get groceries. It was on one of these trips when she heard a loud call for help. It led her to a pet shop that happened to be selling Tarantulas. That is where she met Alejandro. His felt a kinship with him and his yearning for freedom. She decided on the spot to help him. She bought him and while she tried to set him free, Alejandro instead wanted to stay with her and protect her. While she never felt like she needed protecting, she gladly accepted his friendship.
She was in mid call when the Invasion began.
