Headquarters of the Magic Council of Ea

The headquarters of the Magic Council of Ea is one of the grandest buildings in the city.  Not only home to the main magical authority for all of Ea, it also houses the Heart of the Dome.  The source of the magical barrier that protects the city.

Purpose / Function

House the Magic Council of Ea, there staff, experiments, and administrative personnel.

Alterations

Originally a pedestal, holding only the Heart of the Dome, the pedestal and its magical protections where expanded into a full building after the formation of the Magic Council of Ea.

Architecture

Designed in a typical Tortle style with its barely asymmetrical doors and windows rounded in an oblong shape.  The building is 5 floors tall, reaching up about 6 feet, with a bright beam piercing the sky from its top, then expanding out in a dome over the entire city.  The walls are made of compressed sand, into an adobe like mud, infused with magic to protect the building and anyone inside.  Runes encircle every window and door cut into the wall with great care, and checked daily for damage.  When the council is in session the runes will glow, alerting everyone not to disturb the council, and that the buildings magical protections are active and should be avoided.

History

Built after Ea was encased in stone to house the Heart of the Dome and guard the source of power for the city's greatest source of defence, the building was originally named after the power it protected.  Eventually as more magical regulation was added the magic council was formed, the magical protections in place around the heart where expanded into a beautiful building that could house the council and the heart in a symbiotic relationship.  The magic from the heart helps protect the council during large workings, and the council protects the heart from anyone wishing it harm.

Tourism

Tourists rarely reach Ea, but when they do, the HQ of the magic council is impossible to miss, and any visitors will eventually make there way there to see the impressive building.
