Law of Magic

Magic has been apart of the world since its creation and has many complexities that have made a force of nature that is both difficult to control and if used properly rewarding to control. Magic has lots of divisions and fields of study making itself versatile. Before the Void Prism was created magic was a force of nature that became storms that ravaged the ancient world now under the protection of the Prism magic only flows through leylines and the bloodlines that are touched so long ago but is no less a force of nature.   Different worlds have their own way of dealing with how magic is contained Sparks for instance has four crystals that regulate the base elemental forces while Shinia has two regulating the alignment of magic. Dolwen doesn’t regulate magic allowing for chaotic and strange storms to sweep the Surface with no effects in the Underneath.  
"Magic is divided into Schools, Elements, and Alignments very few spell casters can control all of them. By its nature magic is a force of nature that cannot be controlled and yet has borders. Some spells can only be cast at leylines and others during certain times of the day. There is so many spells and rituals that no one can master everything."

Manifestation

Magic is an unseen force of nature making it so that no one can be sure where it is and who knows how to use it. Most of that is dependent on what measures a world has taken to prevent Magic Storms and other like phenomena from happening on them. On top of being a dangerous force of nature, Magic has been divided into many subcategories by those that study it the first and largest categorization is into various Schools that each specialize in different forms of Magic. The third and final rule that magic and most schools follow is Alignment a scale of how Light or Dark a spell is.  

Regulation

  Worlds that don't see any desireable effects to Magic trying to destroy everything that it touches or causing oddities in the environment have found ways of reducing the likely hood of it such things from happening. These worlds use crystals to control an aspect of magic which inturn causes magic to flow through leylines instead of on the surface worlds. Though leylines are natural in the worlds and Magic flows through them as well as on the surface of the world when there is nothing to regulate it. Regulation means that Magic only flows through the leylines.   Sparks uses their crystals to control the base elements at points were Water, Earth, Fire, and Air were causing disasters to prevent those disasters from getting worst. Since base elements are the only form of magic that is being regulated Sparks tends being strongly affected by other forms of magic that don't require one of the base elements. Where the crystals are there is a light that shoots to the sky in the color of that element.   Shinia, on the other hand, regulates the Alignment of Magic making it so that the world has Light and Dark leylines that criss-cross under the surface. This has created the scared light-filled Silver Pine Forest and the ever dark dome of energy that surrounds Dakira.   Earth regulates the Magical Schools of Destruction, Alteration, Illusion, Restoration, and Conjuration. Therefore Earth has the least amount of new spell casters born and hasn't had a magical storm since the ancient time of the Palace of Ra magic is truly invisible and only manifest in people with strong bloodlines or were born near one of the leylines.  

Schools

  Magical schools are divided from what the spells do base on the spell's original purpose for example if the purpose of the spell is to blow something up its a Destruction spell if its meant to heal its Restoration. Straight forward enough.  

Destruction School

 
"The goal is to know how much energy you channel into spells. If you want a small more pliable flame you need less mana and more concentration but if you want to to create an inferno you need more mana and less concentration."

  • Destruction Magic is also known as elemental magic and takes the appearance of the element that a spell casters in channeling. The purpose of these spells is to quickly fight opponents or destroy structures if the spell can do damage physically than it goes in this school.  

    Alteration

     
    "You could say that I prefer the Alteration School since Alchemy and Enchanting change things and I am pretty good at both."

  • This school of magic is about changing the physical environment and is often associated with the Earth element and other magical studies that change the purpose or components of items. The best Alteration spell is a Light spell that creates a ball of light.  

    Illusion

     
    "Just because ya think you see something doesn't mean its there, hun. Some spells can trick even the most grounded caster ya gotta remember that it's all in your mind."

  • Some of the trickier spells Illusion Magic changes how something is seen not the thing's physical form. The domain of this School is tricking people whether it be convincing them that they don't see you or that you, not an enemy to making them think that their own shadow is trying to kill them. This schools' purpose is to avoid fighting outright and many of the spells in this school are shared by Psychic Abilities.  

    Restoration

  • This School focuses on healing and defensive spells like wards using these spells have a tendency to make casters more tired as healing more serious injuries and blocking for the whole group can be exhausting. It is one of the more undervalued Schools because its offensive spells only work on the undead.  

    Conjuration

     
    "There is a reason why some forms of Magic are best left alone. I regret that day the most in my miserable cursed existence. I just had to call her soul back to her body. Now, all that I can is destroy and heal in turn to satisfy the curse she put on me."

  • Conjuration is not an evil School by itself but being closely Aligned to Dark Magic it has a bad reputation. This School's purpose is summoning from elemental totems, familiars, weapons, to Necromancy this is one of the more diverse Schools. A spell that is in this School that every spell caster should know is Book Spell.  

    Alignment

      All spells fall somewhere on this scale and when a smaller spell is cast in one alignment than it will be easier to cast more powerful spells. Light spells are less destructive focusing on protection and healing. Dark aligned spells are more destructive and have rituals that don't require consent from all parties in them. Casters can have a Natural alignment if they haven't cast anything in away.

    Localization

    All of the worlds express Magic is different ways.  

    Earth

      Having the strongest regulation Earth doesn't produce that many spell casters outside of bloodlines and spells require more mana to cast. The pay off is that there haven't been any magical storms since the Ancient Past.
