Queen Mira Redtree

Queen Mira Redtree is the human Queen Regnant of the Kingdom of Hearthfield in Midvail. Queen Mira is the 65th ruler, also known as the 65th Crown of the Kingdom and is easily one of the most powerful rulers in the plane of Dioya thanks to the immense population of the city.   Queen Mira, was born Mira Redtree of the Redtree court in the northern Midvail city of Thicket. Just as all the other Tree clans in the city, the Redtree clan were knights who had protected Thicket for centuries. Her father and mother, Midel and Lill Redtree were excellent archers and retained their nobility through fealty to the Thicket Courts, fighting in the Great Midvail Wars of The Era of Change with Thicket, Tantivire, Chilved, and Greystone. The life of an archer was not Mira’s destiny though, as at the young age of 10 she was diagnosed with an uncommon sickness known as Thief’s Curse, a disease that prevents the inflicted from clenching their fists or being able to hold anything tighter than a light grip. Mira grew up confused as to what her role in the Redtree Clan would be, growing into the black sheep of the family. Mira was the outcast of the Redtree family and remained the outcast until she left the family when she married Immund, king of Hearthfield and the 64th Crown of the Kingdom.   King Immund met Mira during a diplomatic mission to Thicket when he was trying to get the Kingdom to officially ally with Hearthfield in an upcoming conflict with the kingdom of Chilved. Father Sydd, King of Thicket was resilient to this alliance as they were currently on shaky ground with Greystone and Chilved after prior years of warring. King Immund offered to officially ally with Thicket in a more substantial manor, through marrage. The Half-Dwarf King was in his early-100’s and was assumed to have been a confirmed bachelor, but believed that an important, strong alliance between Hearthfield and Thicket would allow him to end the Great Midvail Wars. Mira, still a noble lady of the court of Thicket offered to marry Immund, a stranger to her and a man many times her senior despite the dismay from her family. Father Sydd was impressed with Mira’s apparent dedication to Thicket, and allowed the marriage to take place to ally the two kingdoms.   Queen Mira was patient with King Immund during their 5 years together. The King’s notorious temper was combatted by Mira’s intense calm and Immund often times would just need to look at her in order to keep cool during court meetings. Though they never had a child the two seemed to have quite a large amount of affection for each other and would always make public appearances together, hand in hand. Immund, who was the 7th in his family to take the crown of Hearthfield had little to no experience outside of his kingdom and his nobility. In Thicket, the common folk and nobility were hardly separated, and because of the importance of the farms in and around the Sunscorched Fields, Thicket valued all who contributed to the Kingdom’s economy. Mira’s love and respect for the common folk made her well respected in Hearthfield and improved relations between all classes in Hearthfield. When King Immund was slain on the battlefield by a squire from Tantivire, it was Mira’s respect from the commoners that kept her in power, and respect for commoners that allowed her to save the lives of potentially millions.   After King Immund’s death, Queen Mira took the throne. It was a winters day. On her coronation, all of the factories in Hearthfield were ordered to shut down and a gathering of hundreds of thousands of civilians flocked to Hearthfield Castle, there, Queen Mira ordered for all to be silent for a minute, and while reports are mixed, many believed that all hundred thousand plus people were still for sixty seconds. What is not refutable, is that at this time for the first time since the industrialization of Hearthfield, the massive city experienced snow. As snowflakes fell, undisturbed by air pollution, Queen Mira promised to protect her people and not to seek revenge that would slaughter more than just her own civilians, but to end the Great Midvail Wars once and for all.   Queen Mira’s strategy was a simple one, force the warring kingdoms to bend the knee by forcing their hand in a trade war. Her strategy was not for them to be beaten, but for them to be bribed into civility. Queen Mira had the economy of Hearthfield on her side and the agriculture of Thicket as well but she turned her sights West, to the Elvan cities of Forgevail, Pearlmyre, and Brevia. She did not send messengers to the Elvan cities in the Country of Merydia, she went herself, promising new trade routes and mutually beneficial deals for all who dealt directly with Hearthfield. Mira’s calm but utter confidence worked wonders in Merydia, with all of her dealings succeeding in some way. Even the Glenwraek family of Pearlmyre, one of the Council of Three who was directly allied with Chilved via marriage expressed interest in Mira’s dealings. Hearthfield was already an economic powerhouse, but after Mira’s play, it was the most influential trade city in Dioya. Mira turned her sights to the warring Kingdoms, promising goods, commerce, and more from Hearthfield, Thicket, and all of Merydia to those who swore to stop fighting. Surprisingly, the first to bend the knee was the Kingdom of Chilved, the most historically militaristic and empirical kingdom in Midvail. Chilved’s moral was at an all time low during the last years of the Great Midvail Wars, reeling from the loss of their queen, Pricilla’s death from a mysterious sickness. The King of Chilved, William identified Mira’s offer as not just an olive branch, but a way for Chilved to prosper once more. When Chilved bent the knee, Tantivire followed suit and so did the more fair-weather combatants in the wars like Glenarm, Kinsmead, and Luna. The only major Kingdom of Midvail to refrain from keeping the peace was Greystone who wanted nothing to do with Hearthfield's offer, but fell victim to a revolution in the years following.     After ending the Great Wars, Mira focused on building and refining Hearthfield’s economy to house and embrace the change her actions made to her kingdom. There were murmurs that Queen Mira would marry the Good King William of Chilved to strengthen the new relationship between the two kingdoms, resulting in a formal proposal from the King himself. But Queen Mira silenced these theories, claiming that though she admired and respected the King, she was now married to her Kingdom. As the Era of Change’s Great Disturbance occurred, Queen Mira played a significant role in the Establishment of The League of Every Organized Nation, hosting the summit that created the league and offering herself as League speaker.   Revered highly around Dioya, Queen Mira is not faultless nor perfect in her ruling, but her patience, cunning, and benevolence has separated her from all other rues who came before her.
