Barlo was born to Jade Gift "Gift" and Lucky Song "Song" aboard a ship in a prison cell. The mom had been taken hostage by pirates as she was helping transport some wares. They were let go at some point and they returned to the Bronze Canyon in Kampos where Jade Gift was still at.
