What is a Seven?

A seven is a very powerful magical person who has seven abilities, and will always have Immortality and Shapeshifting.

Sevens are considered demi-gods to most, due at least in part to their unique traits that set them apart from the rest of the magical population. All sevens share the exact same first ability: Immortality. It is the first ability they will obtain at age seven. All sevens also share the same template of abilities:

• Age 7, 1st ability: Immortality
• Age 8, 2nd ability: Combat. Ex) Heightened Reflexes, Immense Strength, misdirection, redirection…
• Age 9, 3rd ability: Defensive. Ex) Hardened skin, magical shielding, Atiniir’s attuning blood…
• Age 10, 4th ability: Movement. Ex) Blink forward, alter backs, heroic leaps, sprint extremely fast…
• Age 11, 5th ability: Strategic. Ex) Drastic eyesight improvement, weakness/ability detection, mind reading…
• Age 12, 6th ability: Iconic/Powerful. This ability typically is the seven’s most powerful ability, and usually sets them apart from others. Ex) Control over a certain element (Water, fire, earth…), Healing powers, weather control, and so on.
• Age 13, 7th ability: Shapeshifting. Every seven’s final ability is to shape shift into an animal – one that represents them well. The only human trait they retain is their ability to speak, otherwise they fully become the animal. The animal itself will have an ability that is contrary to what that animal would normally have in the wild. This is sometimes referred to as the hidden 8th power.

Upon death

Upon physical death the magical powers within the magical people are released in epic fashion. A Four or lower might rustle some leaves. A Five might cause a small non-lethal shockwave that feels like a small wind gust that causes you to steady your feet. A Six's death is a larger non-lethal shock wave can cause light damage to buildings and knock unsuspecting people on their butts. A seven dying means a release of incredible power that it causes a a visual and audible streak of energy across the sky called a "Sky rupture."
Sky ruptures create a massive local shock wave that will topple over most objects standing in its immediate wake. An electric-looking energy laminar-beam will fire upwards into the sky. Upon hitting the perceived dome of the sky, it will diverge and spread across the entire skyline as a single line - from horizon to horizon. Many citizens of Deystrum have described it as a lightning bolt that splits the sky open (hence "Sky Rupture"). It produces an audible thunder that can be heard across the entire planet -loud enough to wake you up from a deep sleep. Because of this occurrence, the Sky Rupture is also effectively an announcement that a seven has died and the next baby born will likely become a new seven. Naturally this causes a myraid of emotions but most commonly: panic.
