The Mirrorwatch
The Mirrorwatch is a collective that seeks to gather all of the world's magical artifacts and lock them away in their tower. The tower itself is also known as Mirrorwatch.
Public Agenda
The Mirrorwatch's stated purpose is to gather and contain magical artifacts that they believe pose a threat to the world. When ever rumors of potentially dangerous magical items are discovered, they will mount an expedition to seize the objects for the safety of everyone. Everything they have gathered is sealed away into the vault in their tower.
Assets
The Mirrorwatch holds many powerful and valuable magical artifacts that they have confiscated for the good of the world. Their most valuable asset however is the Mirrorwatch Tower itself.
History
The Mirrorwatch has its origins in an adventuring guild that had collected a magical mirror capable of duplicating anyone who looked into it. The mirrored copy would then duel its counterpart to the death. It was intended as a training tool, but should the mirrored copy win, it would take the place of the original.
The night that the guild acquired the mirror, most of its members viewed their prize briefly. That night the mirror's duplicates slew most of the guild in the night. The few who remained took up arms against the duplicates and killed them. Once they finished, they covered the mirror to prevent any more copies from appearing and determined what would be done with it. Initially, they had the idea to simply destroy it, but all efforts to do so ended in vain. In the end, they decided that they would guard the mirror both to prevent others from using it and prevent it from causing another disaster.
After some time, the group heard of another disaster caused by another powerful artifact. They decided they would seek to acquire that one and any others they caught wind of. And thus, the mission of the Mirrorwatch was established: To capture and contain all the world's powerful artifacts. And to prevent their misuse and mitigate the risk of any disasters they may cause.
