Kybalism
Kybalism is the orthodox faith centered around the goddess Kybaleen. Its followers believe strongly in the sanctity of nature and live simple lives nurturing the land rather than exploiting it.
Structure
Members of the Kybalism faith see Kybaleen as the embodiment of nature itself. There is no formal organization of the clergy; instead, followers simply establish shrines and care for the natural world in their local region.
Culture
Followers of Kybaleen view nature as sacred, and believe that those who exploit or impose upon it will bring about its wrath and suffer catastrophic natural disasters. They strive to live in harmony with nature and seek to teach others how to support and be supported by it, promoting practices that align with this belief.
Tenets of Faith
- Respect nature in all its forms.
- Show compassion towards others, but shun those who are callous.
- Be willing to forgive those who have wronged you.
- A stranger is a friend you haven't met yet.
- Seek to bring many lives into the world; chastity denies life to the unborn.
- Keep the peace and maintain absolute fairness.
- If one cannot do anything useful, the proper thing to do is travel and have new experiences.
Ethics
Kybalism's faithful are generally accepting of other beliefs as long as they are compatible with their own. They promote polygyny and male sexuality, considering men to be the primary source of new life. Those who engage in relationships that cannot result in new life, and women who engage in extramarital relations, are expected to seek atonement.
Worship
Followers of Kybaleen tend to forgo most of life's luxuries and comforts, as many of them can only be produced by destructive exploitation of nature. Some even seek to live far from civilized lands. They treat sex as a sacred rite of creating life, and the birth of a child is a revered ritual. They spend much of their time communing with nature and studying the skies for hidden signs. They believe the bodies of the dead should be taken deep into nature and left exposed, allowing them to feed and nurture the flora and fauna.
Temper yourself, lest nature shatter you.
