Anomalous Item Coalition

The Anomalous Item Coalition (AIC) is an international Coalition made up of both scientists and soldiers from all over the world, however their primary area of operations is within the Northern Hemisphere.   The AIC was founded in 1870 as a response to a multitude of paranormal and anomalous objects flooding out of UHL territory. Initially, the AIC focused on containment and destruction of any anomalies. However, in the 1890s, they joined forces with multiple other organizations across the globe with the same goal.   The AIC was heavily active throughout the first and second world war, containing the hundreds of anomalies appearing during both wars. It was around the time of WW1 that the AIC realized that certain anomalies could be utilized for the betterment of both the Coalition, and society. As a result, whenever applicable, the AIC utilizes any anomalies deemed Gamma class.   The AIC has a simple security rating system, relating to the greek alphabet.   Alpha: The anomaly is extremely dangerous, has extremely dangerous effects on others, or is extremely hard/impossible to contain.   Beta: The Anomaly can be contained with little to no difficulty, does not have constant risk to personnel unless aggravated/accessed, and can sometimes be utilized to help the Coalition.   Gamma: The Anomaly can easily be contained/will not attempt to escape containment. It more often than not poses no risk to personnel unless made active and not inert, and can often be utilized to assist the Coalition with a multitude of tasks.   In addition, there are two other, rarely used classes that are only used for what the Coalition deems "Reality Enders" or "Reality Saviours" These are Class Enyo and Class Atlas respectively. Class Enyo is assigned to reality enders: those few anomalies who have the ability to destroy at the very least Earth, and at the very most, Reality itself. In contrast, Class Atlas is applied to those who can counteract the actions of Class Enyo entities, showing abilities to preserve Earth or Reality at large.

Structure

The AIC's hierarchy is often confusing to outsiders. Within its walls, however, it is easily understood. The head of the AIC is The Overseer. Every major decision has to go through him. This position is elected by AIC staff every 10 years.   Below The Overseer is The Prime Council, a group made up of the oldest and most experienced members of the AIC. Members are replaced upon the death of a previous member.   Below the Prime Council is Level 5 Researchers. These individuals are often the leaders of AIC sites or outposts, and manage requests made by staff and anomalies.   Below the Level 5 researchers are the Class 4 and 3 researchers, and below them are Junior Researchers. Below that are Class 1 personnel, individuals like janitors, chefs, or secretaries.
