The Laws of Deseran
Deseran has several varieties of magic including ink that can rewrite or protect time, a genetic ability to influence the elements, and the ability to shapeshift into animals by wearing their skins.
There is also a pseudo-physical underworld, which has rare entry points on the surface. Rifts can be torn between the two planes, bringing chaos to the overworld.
Cosmology
The world was created by Arba, who has gradually populated it with sentient species. Humans were the first, scattered across the world, and Arba has added others as he pleased. This process is now complete and the number of species is final, but some existing species are literally younger than others.
Beliefs about the source of existence vary, everything from a god finding an inhabitable planet and populating it with humans, to a pantheon of gods building the world together, to the earth beginning as a seed and all things being grown like plants.
Principal Geography & Features
Much of Deseran is warm, either tropics or sandy deserts. Islands are sprinkled all across the globe. Teraco spreads across the largest continent in the world. Volcanoes are relatively common, especially on Teraco's side of the world, leading to a good number of earthquakes.
There are, however, more temperate regions, and even a far north mountain range that is always covered in snow.
