The Machay Globe

In 543, the Virilen emperor commissioned the creation of a globe that would show the location of any living thing within Virilia's borders. Created by Virilia's best sculptor, painted by one of its best painters, and infused with magic by one of Doisui's priests, the globe was completed in a single month. However, shortly after the globe was delivered to the emperor, it was discovered that he was not using it to simply keep track of his subjects, but to keep an over-tight rein on his family and keep them from leaving the palace. The globe was removed from the palace and entrusted to the calligraphers instead, since they were a group who had already shown trustworthiness with items of such power. Currently, the globe is in the possession of Zen Manh.
Ryuu tried to listen to what Zen was saying, but the globe on Zen's desk had pinpricks of light emanating from it. Ryuu had never seen it do that before. And it didn't help that Emiko was trying to pounce on the light, causing the globe to spin around so he had to pounce again somewhere else. Zen slammed a hand down on the globe and Ryuu jumped, gaze snapping back to the guildmaster.   "Did you hear any of that?" Zen asked.   Ryuu shook his head sheepishly.   Zen sighed and picked up Emiko, setting him in his cage and tucking the globe under the desk. He looked up at Ryuu. "Better?"
