Revenant

Rěcrěo Manus

Revenant are the result of magical resurrection of any Divided after their soul has passed into the afterlife. This is an extraordinarily difficult feat, and requires that both the dead witch and the one bringing them back are monumentally skilled in necromancy. Returning from Heaven has some unusual effects on a soul, for reasons not wholly understood it causes one to become far, far more adept at magic than they ever were in life. While their physical body is still dead, their soul is able to control and use it almost as if they were still alive. If a Revenant's body is destroyed, and their soul's stores of spirit dissipated fully, they will die once again, and no mortal force can bring them back to Deruña again. The only notable physical change to come from this process is that both their irises and sclera darken to near-blackness.

Physical Attributes and Appearance

A Revenant still has the same physical body as when they were alive, but most of its functions have ceased and it is driven entirely by magic. Interestingly, Revenant still seem to be able to use the body's senses despite those being ostensibly dead as well. The only notable physical differences between a Revenant and their original appearance is a significant lightening of skin pigment, and the fact that their eyes become almost entirely black.
Notably, if a Revenant's body is incredibly damaged before revival, or the ritual doesn't quite go right, the revived will become what is known as a 'Dullahan,' a Revenant with their head, or on some occasions a limb, disconnected from their body. This doesn't affect their ability to function, but it does cause their senses to be separate from their body.

Magical Attributes and Skill

Revenant are above average or excellent with most forms of magic, except for Telepathy, and Biomancy. Their spiritual reserves which, while they don't make up their whole being, are necessary to keep it cohesive, are exceptional, and their regeneration, fine and large-scale control are all very impressive. They are slightly resistant to magic. Revenant are only killed if their spiritual reserves are entirely drained, at which point they could still be resuscitated with a significant infusion of necromantic energy within a short period.

Senses and Perception

Revenant can still use the senses of their physical body, though they are slightly dulled by their former death. They are also capable of perceiving the world through magic, if they wish. Seeing invisible magic forces takes no effort for them.

Genetics and Reproduction

Revenant are unable to reproduce.

Growth and Lifespan

While Revenant still have a physical body, it does not age as time passes. In fact, it doesn't decay or degrade in any real way. Thanks to the innate connection their Souls still have to it, a Revenant is capable of even regenerating their body if it is badly damaged.

Naming Traditions

Revenant have no inherently different naming conventions than whatever their original species was.

Culture and Customs

Revenant don't have any unique customs since they're simply other resurrected Divided, but they do tend to be more academic, since it's a necessity in order to become a Revenant in the first place.

Dietary Needs

Revenant do not need to eat.
Etiquette Tips
Revenant don't usually behave differently than they did when alive, but acting like they're now different somehow is a sure way to immediately anger them.
General Opinion
Most people fear Revenant. Unlike Ghosts, who simply exist on occasion as a natural part of death, Revenant represent a more direct and intentional rejection of the natural way of things that just doesn't typically sit right with people. However, due to them being almost universally extremely skilled in at least two forms of witchcraft, they're often respected as academics.
Fun Revenant Fact!
Revenant actually have better magical ability than they did originally, thanks to some lingering knowledge they gained during their time in the afterlife.
