Revenant
Rěcrěo Manus
Revenant are the result of magical resurrection of any Divided after their soul has passed into the afterlife. This is an extraordinarily difficult feat, and requires that both the dead witch and the one bringing them back are monumentally skilled in necromancy. Returning from Heaven has some unusual effects on a soul, for reasons not wholly understood it causes one to become far, far more adept at magic than they ever were in life. While their physical body is still dead, their soul is able to control and use it almost as if they were still alive. If a Revenant's body is destroyed, and their soul's stores of spirit dissipated fully, they will die once again, and no mortal force can bring them back to Deruña again. The only notable physical change to come from this process is that both their irises and sclera darken to near-blackness.
Notably, if a Revenant's body is incredibly damaged before revival, or the ritual doesn't quite go right, the revived will become what is known as a 'Dullahan,' a Revenant with their head, or on some occasions a limb, disconnected from their body. This doesn't affect their ability to function, but it does cause their senses to be separate from their body.
Physical Attributes and Appearance
A Revenant still has the same physical body as when they were alive, but most of its functions have ceased and it is driven entirely by magic. Interestingly, Revenant still seem to be able to use the body's senses despite those being ostensibly dead as well. The only notable physical differences between a Revenant and their original appearance is a significant lightening of skin pigment, and the fact that their eyes become almost entirely black.Notably, if a Revenant's body is incredibly damaged before revival, or the ritual doesn't quite go right, the revived will become what is known as a 'Dullahan,' a Revenant with their head, or on some occasions a limb, disconnected from their body.
