The Eastern Desert Sea Geographic Location in Derkomai | World Anvil

The Eastern Desert Sea

The Eastern Desert Sea (Azmatherasti Sei) is an inland sea that lies within a huge basin between the Great Eastern Mountains and the Central Hills. It is fed and drained by the Long River, as well as numerous other streams and smaller rivers flowing out of the Central Hills and the West Spur Range. It is irregularly shaped, but its longer axis is oriented from northeast to southwest. At its greatest extents, it is nearly 200 miles (320 km) long by 150 miles (240 km) wide. The Easter Desert Sea forms the northeastern boundary of The Great Equatorial Desert and the southeastern boundary of The Steppe.   The capital cities of Lokdoshi and Lyndoshi lie on the northwestern shores of the Eastern Desert Sea, while the Senyon cities of Lokyosa and Lokminto lie on its southeastern shores.

Geography

Derkomai was struck millions of years ago by several large meteors that approached from below (south of) Derkomai's plane of rotation and were moving toward the north of (above) the plane of rotation at approximately 135 degrees relative to Derkomai's axis of rotation. The meteors left several large craters that over the years were eroded and filled with water. The largest of those meteor craters became the Desert Sea. Ejecta from the crater formed the Central Hills.
