Empowered
Empowered is the name given to humans who possess supernatural abilities, called Powers & Manifestations. Empowered people make up a small amount of the global population, accounting for roughly only 0.5%.
Empowered are generally oppressed around the world, though recent laws in countries such as Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Iceland, Canada, Finland, Estonia, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand have rocketed Empowered rights forward, and in many of the listed countries they are protected classes.
As of 2015, Norway, Sweden, Ireland, Argentina, Uruguay and Singapore are considering implementing similar laws to protect Empowered and make scientific experimentation on them without their consent illegal. Calls from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) are encouraging many other countries to follow suit.
