The Formless Queen

Terror and hate incarnate.

Origin

Abridged from "Priciples of the draconic faith" by Xerosh Silverclaw

She was one of the two titans of the primordial times.

Born when Bonuras split his soul and is thus without constant form. When she realized that she couldn't create life like her other half, she began to loath him and the worlds he created.

She rebelled against her other half and against life itself, destroying countless worlds in the process. For what she couldn't have, none should have.

In the following fight, both titans were gravely injured but both were able to utter one last spell before falling in their long rest.

While Bonuras used his last strenght to seal his other half deep in the worlds she destroyed, while the Formless Queen cursed his offspring, the dragons of our age, with her anger, greed and mistrust.

There she waits until this day, to awaken again and reform the living worlds in her image.

Appearences in culture and literature

She is ever waiting, preying on those weak enough to fall for her false promises.
— From a common song.
I am very positive that SHOULD she exist and SHOULD she ever escape the lower planes, then no god can save us. A terrifying thought indeed.
— Albrecht "The thinker" of Steinhaven
All shall be cleansed in her rightous rage.
— An unnamed knight of the order of the formless.
Her blackened heart is bound by His ever sharp claws. His radiating light sending her into millenia of slumber.
— Principles of the draconic faith.
I can see her in the shadows, even now as I write this down. She appears as all the draconic forms I know, watching, waiting. I will heed her call. I will serve her with flesh and blood. I will...
— Unknown
Perhaps we've only been seeing those old stories through a lens. Maybe we should make room for a new point of view. Who knows, maybe She is not the monster we're made believe she was.
— A young duke Eldric Grimson of Greifenwall

Theoretical Countermeasures

There are several concepts by different theological and spiritual figures throughout history that deal with a potential rise of The Formless Queen. These range from nihilistic to very optimistic.

Some say an intervention by Bonuras Himself would be our only hope, some say even He couldn't face Her again and others still try to approach the topic with reason.

Such theories often speak of ancient, forgotten weapons that, based on the specific theory, are parts of His physical form, made to bind Her to the underworld.

If any of these theories hold any truth is a question we hopefully will never need an answer to...
