Minotaur

The Civil and the Feral

Two types of minotaur are knownto exist on Deadmouth Island.  The feral miotaur is found in the wild and is barely more than a beast.  They tend to be solitary creatures that migrate to mate once a year and the minotaur calves are left by their mothers after only a year to eighteen months.  Feral minotaurs develop rapidly, but it is not uncommon to find a solitary adolescent or youngling in the wild.  Even a youngling can be dangerous to the unwary.  They are relentless in pursuing their prey and they have a craving for animal flesh that can barely be contained.   Their more developed and civilized cousins do not even acknowledge the similar bloodline to the feral breed, seeing them as akin to the similarities going as far as with humans and apes, but no further.  Deadmouth minotaurs are smaller than the feral variety and develop more slowly, but are still naturally large and physically strong. Their affinity for physical tasks masks a keen intelligence.  They do, however tend to be gruff and have little time for social niceties, and their inattention to such matters can leave them vulnerable to being taken advantage of.  Despite this, taking advantage of a minotaur is not something a person will tend to do twice if they are discovered or caught, as the rage of a Deadmouth minotaur is a sight to behold.  Fiercely loyal and trusting friends and unforgiving of betrayal, they see th world in black and white terms and expect to be treated as they treat others.   Sometimes another kind of civilized minotaur ethnicity appears on Deadmouth Island.  They tend to exist on the fringes of society, seen as "lesser than" by Deadmouth minotaurs and given the same space that most Deadmouters afford most of their most prolific bretheren.
