Lacarde Company
Synopsis
The Lacarde Company is better known as the Fire Rangers, where they had a famous last stand in the Mïtsha forest. Here they defended the Haafy Kingdom from the attacking Dutchy of Silä. In a last afford to drive Silä back they set the forest around them a fire. It worked, three thousand Silanian troops died in the fires that lasted a week. From the two hunderd and twelve Rangers none have been found afterwards.
Composition
The Lacarde Company was a ranger company. A light infantry formation that specialised in skirmish hand to hand combat and trapping. Aswell as traveling cross country while living of the land.
Armament
Half the company were specialized archers, equiped with short bows, and short swords. Short bows because those fired faster, were less combersome in forrests or among the shrubbery aswell as in urbanised area's. Their swords were a back up.
The other half of the company were swordsman, equiped with arming sword and shield.
Ofcourse they all carried daggers and other equipment to aid their off-base lifestyle.
Armour
All of the company were steel curasses wrapped in green stained leather. The archers arms were only covered by venbraces while their upper arms were only coverd by chainmail to give them a more freedom of motion to pull the bow. The swordsman had full arm and shoulder covering.
Rumours
Legend has it that none of the Lacarde Company actually died in the fire, as not a single piece of equipment or armour was found among the ashes. Where there were plenty artifacts of the Sillians and their encampment scattered in the wasteland.
What actually happened to them is a mystery as they did not appear ever again.
