Nymphs
Nymphs are both the guardians and the elf-like personifications of the area they protect. They do not reproduce but grow up naturally as a result of the pure environment, tending to and protecting it from anyone who would see harm to it (usually through nonlethal measures). Nymphs tend to be very reclusive, but they are willing to provide friendly aid to fellow protectors of the wild, such as rangers or druids.
They are also particularly beautiful, so much so that individuals will seek them out merely to watch them. Of course, this beauty can also stun or even blind weak-willed onlookers, as the nymph’s (free action) blinding beauty is what sets them apart from other creatures of nature.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Nymphs are fey that are very similar to wood elves in appearance; for instance, they have markedly pointed ears. They are not just physically beautiful, but literally blindingly so. It is said that their beauty could lead anyone who gazed upon them either blindness, madness, or even death. However, they can suppress this ability if they wished.
Genetics and Reproduction
Nymphs and Satyr can reproduce, producing children whose race is determined by their sex. However, in the Feywild, Nymphs also spontaneously form in areas of exquisite beauty, via emotionogenesis.
Ecology and Habitats
They usually dwell in forests, streams, waterfalls, or coves. They are the guardians and protectors of these and the portals to the faerie realm. They tend to live near hollow hills. They have the ability to wield the power of nature.
