Elder Day

History

This day of celebration was born out of the traditions of Mother's and Father's day. The idea was to bring back a celebration of those that had survived and helped create the place that you are living in. Having Elders is a symbol of survival. It means that there are people living through the difficult times and making it into old age. In part, this celebration is about there being a return to things that were present before The Fall.

Execution

This holiday is generally one spent with family and friends. It is the tradition that this is a day that the Elders are not required to do any work and are given gifts to show appreciation. Generally speaking, the younger people will cook a favorite meal or elaborate treat for the Elders in their lives.

Participants

Everyone in the community participates in this event. The Elders are those who are considered to be over 40 years old and are considered to be the center of this celbration. This is day to celebrate the Elders in the community and everything that they have done to make the community better.
