Talrynn
Talrynn was raised in Helstrup by his father, who was a farmer and Viking of some renown. He learned the skills of both while he was young, how to tend the ground and swing a sword. The early years were rather uninteresting for young Talrynn. However when he turned 13, he sought permission from his father to journey out and make his own name.
Talrynn left home with nothing but his clothes, sword and some food. He was bound for the city of Riviõna, hoping to learn more about the world. Talrynn further honed his sword skill as well as received a more formal education in both the Temple of Lugh and Temple of Tyr in Riviõna.
When he turned 17, Talrynn left Riviõna for the Emerald Capital of Lullin. There he signed on with a band of Mercenaries to earn some gold and experience. It was here he first met Heathen, a Priest of Lugh.
Heathen and Talrynn became quite close, bonding over their respect for the God Lugh. Talrynn also met his future wife, Virah; during this time as well. Heathen introduced the two of them during some downtime he and Talrynn received from the Mercenary Band.
Heathen and Talrynn fortified their bond during a battle against some rogue goblins who had come north for caravan raiding. Heathen and Talrynn had long practiced their tandem fighting but in this battle both would receive wounds; and save each other from certain death.
After about six years with the company, he left Lullin to return to his homeland; and entered the service of Jarl Sigure of Helstrup. It was here that Talrynn became a devoted follower of Tyr and began his career as a War-Leader. He very quickly became a prominent warrior in Helstrup and during one raiding season, he asked to join the High King’s raids. It was during this raid that Talrynn gained the attention of the High King of Jordunafell.
During this season also, he met Rekkr; an interesting fellow on one of the ships under his command. Rekkr was unlike most Norsemen; and clearly not native to the North. He did however fight like one and drank just as well
Talrynn and Rekkr became steadfast friends and shield-brothers.
After the Season was over and the Norsemen returned home, the High King sent word to Helstrup for Talrynn to join his Housecarls in Jordunafell. His Jarl, while reluctant to lose him, allowed him to travel to the capital to take his new position. During his 26th year, Talrynn was given the title of Hersir by the High King and permission to set out to found his own Hold in due time.
