The Dawn of Time

... 23000 ASD

At the Dawn of Time, when the seas were still wild and rolling and the land was hot and restless and had not settled properly in its final form, Draugonir and Vaeloth, two of the last Star Dragons came to Daurinath.     Their journey had lasted for decades. It had taken them through black holes, along swirling milky ways and past dying stars. They felt weary past measure, but there was also a tiny flame of hope. This world, they had come across, was young and unclaimed. No one would find them. Here they would be able to rest. Here they would be able to find a new home. The warmth seemed to welcome them, thawing out the ice that had settled in their bones during the long travel through endless space.

    The Birth of the Humans
    Founding

Vaeloth and Draugonir saw the potential in this young world. A new home could be built here, without the wars of their own kin decimating their creations. Much life already existed, in the fruitful lands of Calendêhl many beasts and plants grew and prospered, creating inspiring landscapes to call home. But the Star Dragons were missing company of a higher intellect. Something they could watch grow and build towards their first infant steps, much like their own kin, aeons ago. Inspired by the life they had seen travelling the stars, Vaeloth and Draugonir began to create.   At first they created the humans. Naive kin with short lives, ambitious to achieve the most in the little time they had. Adapting quickly, humans learned to live off the land, using stone tools and using the livestock available to sustain their small settlements.

East of them, in the dark, deep forests, Vaeloth created another race. Taller but dainty and with a far longer lifespan, the elves called the woodland their home. In not as much of a rush, the elves took a long time to develop, spending decades with little progress at a time.

    The Weaving of Magic
    Metaphysical / Paranormal event

The little progress by the elves worried Vaeloth and Draugonir, fearing that the humans would destroy the elves should they ever meet. So Vaeloth and Draugonir gave Daurinath the gift of their kin. Both dragons infused their power into a thread, so fine it almost did not exists. And with this thread, the Star Dragons wove a fabric, covering the entire world of Daurinath. This fabric let anyone who knew how to interact with it, manipulate the Star Dragons' power, and cause magical effects. This knowledge was bestowed upon the elves and thus the elves quickly started using their newfound magic to build cities and farmland just like the humans could.

However, the fabric got worn and started to tear, constantly needing the two Star Dragons to mend it. This started to tire them out, making them question their choice of gifting their power to the minor races. So they created a being to take their place. Having the sole purpose to repair the fabric. this being the elves learned to call the Weaver.

    Founding

Vaeloth and Draugonir created many more races in their new home. Dwarves to dig and mine out the riches of the world, gifting magical gems to the Star Dragons in return. Halflings to tend to the land and nurture the crops and orchards of Calendêhl. And many more.

    The Fallout

With everything going so well in Calendêhl, Draugonir turned to the final creatures he wanted in their new world: his own brood. When Vaeloth learned of his companion's plans to create dragons in Daurinath, he fiercely opposed it, never wanting the infighting of his own kin to devastate his newfound home. But Draugonir disagreed and wished not to be the only ones of their kind, so the brothers fought savagely above Calendêhl, resulting in Draugonir being wounded and fleeing across the sea, while Vaeoloth remained, cursing his brother for trying to destroy their only home.
