Material Characteristics

Ethirium occurs in long veins deep in the heart of the mountains. As long as a vein is untouched, it glows and pulses in an eerie blue light. Once a chrystal is broken off the main vein, it stops glowing and turns a pale blue colour, much like an Aquamarine.
Only the Dwarves can mine Ethirium, because they can work in close proximity to the veins. Everyone else getting too close becomes sick in mind and body.

Can be used to power magical devices.

The only known source of Ethirium is deep in the The Southern Mawl

History & Usage

Discovery

The Dwarves of Malador discovered Ethirium a long time ago. However they were not very interested in mining the mineral, as they could not see any special use for it.
It was only when Leonora Dahvinik came to Malador and took some Ethirium back to her brother, Leovin Dahvinik, that Ethirium became known to the rest of the world.

Industrial Use

Ethirium is the main component in the new Ethirium Force Technology to power magical devices.
