Borvall

We see a town. A small town on the outskirts of a big forest. A very big forest. A gigantic forest in fact. It feels endless. Maybe it is? No one who has traveled far enough to see has ever come back. Well, back to the town. Borvall. A nice little town were nothing really happens. The most interesting things always have to do with the forest, and not many dare to enter it.
— Me, introducing Borvall to my players (D&D)
North of the mountains and on the outskirts of Deepforest we find a small town called Borvall.

Demographics

Sitting quite close to the North Bay a lot of travelers and merchants find their way through Borvall. Most just pass through, but some decide to stay.   Mostly humans live here, but some dwarves, elves and other humanoids have settled down here as well. Farmers have a lot of land to work with around the town, and there are quite a few craftsmen working with different kinds of material around the town. Most of the souls in Borvall are not living lavishly, the mayor is probably the only one that might have something that resembles luxury.

Government

The mayor runs this town. Borvall has an election every 10 years to vote for a new (or the same) mayor, and everyone that has passed their 15th year living may vote.   Taxes include fees for patrolling soldiers; running the school, library and infirmary; keeping the roads good and more.

Assets

Biggest Buns

A bakery situated at the square. Every morning the smells of newly baked bread and sweet buns fly out the windows to those walking past. The bakery is run by a middle aged dwarven woman named Trinda. Her love for the craft always shows in her creations: the taste, the smell and maybe one or two paw prints if you're lucky! She has a lot of cats and lets them roam free in the bakery. If you are allergic she can purify the bread with a little sprinkle of magical sugar.

Kerrek's Forge

Kerrek is the dwarf owns the forge in the town. You are always welcomed by a friendly face! He is an expert in most metals and will gladly make a custom made weapon for any adventurer with money and a vision of the creation.

Cow's Stomach

Niike is a strong woman, working hard to deliver the best meat to you. Prime parts are readily available, and you can turn in anything you've found on your hunt for her to chop up (just don't mention if anything strange happened in the woods, then she might be too scared to touch the meat).

Library

Some might say that reading books makes you a nerd, but not according to Londye. He knows that knowledge is power. Maybe that is why he works in the library? This elf will help you find the information you need, only if you keep calm (as you should in a library).

Gomodozu Inc.

A kind of monster hunting, contract work-group. Registered to the Guild of Arms. This group contains two half orchs, a halfling and a wood elf: Ghoradush, Zurigur, Mon and Doroneth respectively. They may help you, especially if they get paid for their work.

Town Hall

Alistair is often the one you meet at the door. If there is something you need to talk about with the mayor, he will arrange that. The mayor herself, Kitya, doesn't shy away from meeting with her people though, she will gladly hear on any opinions on the welfare of the town.   Meetings with the residents of the town, soldiers or other big gatherings are held in the auditorium. There are smaller rooms for meetings with individual residents, diplomats or leaders from other areas.
