Mistships

The Mistships, are something rarely seen by the young worlds of the Verse, their intil very recently have been the provency of the older civilisations, like the Le'shen, the Dragonmarked of Conshan, the Mystics of Kaldor and many others, but the young city of Bavo'sand has managed to its' hands on a old Le'shen Warbird, old in design and no where up to the standards of modern Mistships, but it does ask a question of how the older civilisations are going to treat and deal with this new group riding the waves of the veiled paths that up to know have been hidden from them.
There are as many designs for mistships as their are people who use them from the sleek ships of the Le'shen cityships, to the slapdash thrown together astroids-based ships of the Concordia Hegemony, and everything in between. But there are similarities that all hold, one is the fact all need a wielder of magic to power the ability to slip though onto the rivers of the mists rather than the paths that younger civilisations have already found. The magic users uses a device generally called the Jumpseat, which links them to many systems on board the ship, from engines to navigation to just a general idea of the ship's well-being and damage in a fight. The other is their need for a way to supply breathable air to those on board, so many are covered in greenage from their homes to help with that process.
There are a number of classes of mistships upto and probably including the great city ships of the Le'shen, but those are somewhat unique in the dark. But the other races do have many of the other types.
Brigs: are the smallest class of mistships, those that are often run as small independant merchants or as a patrol and fast courier vessel in larger groups.
Corvettes: are the smallest ships seen as combat capable, fast and agile but still armoured and armed as a warship as required. Obviously, some older designs may have found their way into private ownership. Rarely found independently but in groups of 2 or 3 or within a larger formation.
Frigates: Will larger than corvettes still seen as barely large enough to be classed as a warship, these are often used in scouting and pirate hunting independently from large formations by the major powers in the dark.
Man of War: From the Hawks of the Le'shan to Tyrants of Beholders, these are deadly and dangerous ships to tangle with, you seen one of this bearing down on you prepare yourselves for what comes after. These are true ships of the line and are rarely seen outside the navies of the big players.
Battleship: Few true battleships exist, these hulking monsters dwarf either those ships of the Man of War classes and tend only be seen in true wars between civilisations, as they are really too slow to chase pirates or smugglers or other vagabonds.
