Kingdom of Ashtree

Smaller Provinces, Bigger Kingdom

The Kingdom of Ashtree (with the royal banner being a black tree on a gray-and-white background) is made up of ten territories in total, those being six provinces and four marches. The provinces are three baronies, two counties, and one duchy. Ringwarden, the capital city, is inside the duchy. Each march is a border territory, and the borders are vaguely defined, so the marches are there to resolve border conflicts and have armies rallied for war. Every march has its own keep, where the marquess/marquise and their soldiers are stationed. The status of a baron is the lowest, then the viscount (territory owner, but no real power), then the marquess, then the count, and then the duke, with the king ruling over them. The prince also holds control over the Principality of Gerovia, a small fishing village on the nearby island of Aberravinor.

For The King

The High King himself is called King Artik III, and his wife Miranda passed away mysteriously a decade ago. His Royal Highness is seen as a respectable leader, but one that is afraid to act impulsively without consulting the council, and the people don't like hesitant leaders. His Majesty's son, Artik IV, is seen as a weak leader that doesn't actually know how to rule over even a small village, and he's only 18. Neither of them can protect the people against the King of Haralyn.

This is the structure for how much the title is valued by the kingdom.

Assets

The Royal Treasury, about 2,000 troops ready to deploy (as well as a militia from small settlements), the six provinces, the four marches, and the city of Ringwarden.

Military

Usually based around the four marches, but military patrols can be seen within each province sometimes, too. The marches and borderlands are simply where they are most needed.

Technological Level

About as developed as 14th century Northern Europe in terms of general technology. Many things that are far more technologically advanced, such as military tactics, are such because of the presence of magic.

Religion

Though Therroanism is commonly practiced in Ringwarden and in the Duchy of Karlsvogur, other recognized religions are Valnietism, Seltorianism, Lawful Neutralism, Chaotic Neutralism, and the Church of Equality. There are plenty of taboo religions, such as cults for the Old Gods and other such organizations and sects, but most aren't forbidden unless their practices are dangerous. Most have a negative opinion on such other religions.

Foreign Relations

They are currently at war with Aberravinor over the Isle and its territories, and tensions are rising between them and the Nation of Haralyn.

Agriculture & Industry

Mainly based around crops, livestock of all sorts (mainly poultry and beef), and mining. Not much else is done here. It is very much an agriculturally-based society.

Trade & Transport

There are a few major roads connecting the larger settlements and the march keeps, but other than that, most roads are just simple paths and trails that have been used many times. Mostly products that a specific place needs are moved across, as most other things can be provided just by the resources around an area.

Education

For lower class people, they usually either don't get an education at all, or if they're lucky enough to have a home, it's just the basics of mathematics, reading, writing, and skills needed for their job. Formal education is available to most middle class people, but only for about a half dozen years. It consists of both the basics and etiquette, complex mathematics and literature, that sort of stuff. Aristocrats basically get the absolute best education possible in a world such as this.

Infrastructure

Border keeps, road networks, trade routes for supplying places in need of things, tax collection and their systems, plenty of walls, town halls, and guildhalls for organizations. If general stores do exist, which they are usually replaced by markets, they only sell stuff for traveling. Otherwise, full open air markets exist. Restaurants, too, but those are a bit fancy for most people and non-guild members. So, most people eat at taverns or at home.
