World War Three

World War Three was the most devastating war in human history. Started because of a combination of resource scarcity and religious fundamentalism, it ended with a body count in the billions and the dropping of a dozen nukes on the same city. The remaining governments banded together in the aftermath and resolved that nothing so devastating should ever happen again, forming the Sol Federation to ensure the Sol System's relative peace.
