Inquisitor Daudus

Daudus the Brutal, Daudus the Executioner. It is said that none but the Emperor may judge an Inquisitor for his work, but would He so easily forgive the death of so many for so simple a cause?
~Father Nomilus Khrur, on The Astrilos Tragedy, Part I
The Inquisition is feared for many reasons, even by the pious and holy, few so represent this fear as Inquisitor Daudus, or Daudus the Executioner as he is better known.
Though much of his work is unknown, his operations in the Astrilos System have made him infamous within the sector and beyond. Never has he attempted to hide his work, but for this reason much of the Imperium questions if his methods were truly necessaryA member of the Ordo Malleus, Daudus was lead to Astrilos under rumours of a powerful cult that had inhabited the systems Agri-World, Tourci Quintus. Within only a few days of arrival within the system, Exterminatus was ordered not only on the Agri-World, but on many planets within and surrounding the system itself. Fifteen planets destroyed via Cyclonic Torpedoes, and over sixty billion civilians killed.
Though Inquisitor Daudus has always been open regarding his actions, he has never explained what terror or nightmare had driven him to commit such a terrible act. Some say that he had witnessed something so horrific he went on a killing spree across any world he could find, some say that he had committed such an atrocity to be granted some malefic power, his age of 342 being excused as a wish for eternal life. Those few who defend the Inquisitors actions say that he was defending from an invasion of demons, or some other grand threat from the warp.

Ongoing Work

Since the hundred or so years since the Astrilos Tragedy, Daudus has condemned himself to life within his ship, the Salvation of Fire. Though his activities continue he now operates largely through servants and acolytes. Those few occasions when the Inquisitor will strike out from his ship are cases where he can fight outside of the eyes of the Imperium. Many have accused Daudus of being a hard Radical, even an Isstvanian, but such claims rarely recieve an answer.
