Paulie Sacco is a massive presence, literally and figuratively. In his early 60s, he's a barrel-chested man with thick forearms, a heavy gut, and a slow, deliberate way of moving that makes him seem even larger. Always clad in loose, sweat-stained shirts and slacks, he smells faintly of garlic, sausage grease, and old tobacco. His voice is low and measured, rarely raised, but when he speaks, everyone listens—and obeys.
