The Society of Alchemists
In the dark fort walls, in the shadow of the gloomy shale bluff, stands the Grand Apothecary. A bastion of knowledge, academia and, more often than not, improvisation. Existing in a land utterly devoid of wealth, the Society of Alchemists slowly advance civilization's pressing needs for amenities and poultices with virtually no funding whatsoever. Working with meager weeds and minerals scrounged from the remnants of the city, apprentices provide reagents for the Society at great toil and peril, all for the opportunity to learn the ancient craft.
It is known to all that through the miracle of alchemy all mortal ills can be placated and all desires granted. Used to working without, the alchemy of Maussengart is a practice where all the art resides in the virtue of economic temperance. Much like the rest of the city, the structures of the campus barely function and the tools are old, existing only through the grace of some divine providence. Despite the current state of the labs and lecture halls, the resident cult of the Apothecary insists that the records kept in scripture indicate that somehow Academia is the sector least affected by the recent apocalypse.

Structure
The structure of the Alchemist's Guild is highly hierarchical. New members become Apprentice and perform much of the manual labor unrelated to the act of alchemy.
Novice members are given lab permissions under the supervision of a Journeyman member, this relationship allows Journeymen to pursue their Master Thesis. An Adept spends their time with very little supervision and providing the guild with income by performing a majority of the commissions. Master members perform much research and development, often directed by the Grandmaster, a senior leadership position that is voted in by the Masters every two years.

Culture
Among the Great Orders in Maussengart, the Alchemists are perhaps the most pressed for resources. This aspect shows in every aspect of their interactions with the world outside of their lab. A majority of their interactions with other Orders are purely transactional.
